Chapter 178 by Duskford Duskford

What's happening with Heather and Leah?

Heather makes a decision

Meanwhile, Heather and Leah were at the farthest point from Ravers’ Cabin along the lake’s shore when they decided to stop for a brief rest. The brunette wasn’t in the mood to splash in the water with the rest of her friends, so when she announced she was leaving for a walk, Leah offered to accompany her.

Heather was wearing a two-piece black bikini, with a red sarong around her waist and a pair of black flip-flops on her feet. Leah had opted for a white tank top, jeans shorts and red flip-flops. The waters were calm as they sat down on the grass, as that part of Silver Lake didn’t have a beach.

It had been a quiet walk up to that point, Heather seemed to be deep in thought and Leah figured she shouldn’t disturb her boyfriend’s daughter. Her heart went to the poor girl when she talked about Zachary, the boy she developed some feelings during their Spring Break trip. Lean wondered if she had given Heather the right advice by talking about her high school boyfriend. ”Just because mine was lousy, it doesn’t mean hers will be too.”

The redhead smiled at recalling how supportive Heather had been of her relationship with Robert, always saying how her father should end his marriage for real and make his relationship with Leah official. Leah always marveled at how someone so young could be so alike to someone like Robert. She guessed her boyfriend had raised his daughter extremely well. ”I wonder if she knows just what kind of relationship I have with her father.”

The 27 year-old woman looked at Heather, the girl hadn’t spoken a word since sitting down, staring at the lake with a thoughtful look on her face.

“You didn’t have to come with me, you know?” Heather said before turning to Leah with a small smile. “Dad will get worried about you.”

Leah grinned. “I’ve told him I was coming with you,” She replied. “Besides, I figured you needed a friendly shoulder.”

“Thanks, Leah, you might actually be one of the kindest persons I know.” Heather complimented the older woman, recalling how her father’s girlfriend always treated her well, even when she was just his secretary.

“Why, thank you, Heather,” Leah replied, touched by the compliment. “I like you very much too, and not just because you are Robert’s daughter, but a good friend as well.”

“Aww, thanks, Leah,” Heather smiled. “Just for that, I’ll even let it slide that you were gawking at my friends while we were eating.”

Leah’s expression turned into one of sheepishness. “Alright, guilty, I was looking.” She said, in a worried tone.

“Don’t panic, I know how dad’s relationships work, although I hope that he settles down with you,” Heather was quick to reassure her father’s girlfriend she wasn’t mad. “Was it his idea or yours?”

“Mine,” Leah admitted. “I saw him sneaking glances at them and figured it’d be fun to bring one to our bed.”

“Hmm, I see,” Heather said, her smile turning into a smirk. “What’s your opinion, so far?”

Leah smiled, glad that Heather wasn’t angry with her. “Well, Ashley, the little blonde, seemed to be the livelier amongst them, and she has an extra appealing factor, your dad knows her since she was a kid. As for the other blonde, the green-eyed one, I got the impression she wouldn’t be interested,” She said. “My fellow redhead, on the other hand, Chloe, I think, she seemed to be sneaking glances at all the boys on that deck, I’m guessing she can be a good candidate as well.”

“Yeah, you should probably stay away from Victoria, there’s no way she’d agree to what you have in mind. Ashley broke up with her boyfriend yesterday, you might just convince her if you play your cards right,” Heather theorized. “However, I’d suggest you to focus on Chloe.”

“How so?” Leah asked, interested.

“I’ve noticed her looking at the other boys too, that’s probably ‘cause Gavin and her are having some kind of trouble, they’re each other’s first boyfriend and girlfriend, after all,” The brunette cheerleader answered. “I think they’d have a lot to learn from you and dad, both sex and attitude-wise.”

“Hmm, I’ll have a little chat with her later, then.” Leah said in an excited tone, already seeing the possibilities.

“Do it, but Leah,” Heather retorted, turning to the redhead with a serious look on her face. “Whatever you do with Chloe, bring Gavin along. It’d devastate him to know someone’s playing with his girlfriend behind his back.”

“Of course,” Leah grinned. “It’ll be fun to teach him the ropes.”

Heather just nodded in response and turned back to the lake. Leah looked at her boyfriend’s daughter, it seemed something was on her mind and she was pretty sure of what it was.

“Heather, what about you?” The redhead inquired. “Have you decided what you’re going to do about that Bishop guy you were talking about earlier?”

“As a matter of fact, I have,” Heather answered in a whispered voice. “I’m gonna take a last shot.”

“Ugh, thank god! That’s the spirit, girl!” A seemingly relieved Leah exclaimed. “Here I was, starting to think I had given you the wrong advice.”

Heather grinned and rested her head on Leah’s shoulder. “Don’t worry, I know you meant well,” She said in an attempt to reassure the older woman. “I overheard Vicky saying she’d go on a hike today, so Zack won’t be seeing her at all. That way, when I’m done with him, he won’t know which way is up.”

“You go, girl!” Leah encouraged, taking the younger girl in a hug, which Heather happily returned. “You deserve to have everything you want, you’re your father’s daughter, after all.”

“Thanks for being here for me, Leah,” Heather said, burying her face on the crook of the redhead’s neck. “Somehow I think my friend’s wouldn’t know the right things to say as you do.”

“Anytime, sweetie.” Leah said, pulling back from the hug to look at her boyfriend’s daughter and leaning down to plant a kiss on her forehead. Heather reciprocated by pecking the redhead on the cheek.

They smiled at each other, Heather’s blue eyes gazing into Leah’s green ones. Almost at the same time, they leaned in and exchanged a playful peck on the lips. The two of them giggled before repeating the gesture.

However, when they pulled back from the second one, all traces of playfulness slowly vanished from their faces, giving way to a darker expression. Leah caressed Heather’s cheek with her thumb before leaning down and capturing the younger girl’s lips in a kiss.
