“Hahaha, so apparently we're roommates now.” Flora told Merida. “I think you should keep that collar on for a while so we can experiment some more.”

“Weel, I can tell ye this, Kitty. I’m definitely goin’ tae make mysel’ at least attracted tae ye.”

“Oh that reminds me, we talked about it before but you should use your boon for that. How exactly does that work by the way?”

“Weel I see, various threads. I can filter oot threads I’m no’ interested in. I can also vaguely tell whit the threads symbolise. I’ll use oor threads as an example. There are threads that clearly go from ye tae me and some that go from me tae you. I cannae explain how I ken which is which but I dae. There are a few that are intertwined thegither, as well. I can pick any one thread o’ a given type tae strengthen or create. The intertwined threads seem tae coont as one for strengthenin’ purposes.”

“Can you give me an example of something intertwined?”

“Aye, oor affection for one anither. They werenae intertwined earlier either. They also changed in… tone? Shade maybe? No’ sure the proper term. But there is mair passion in that affection.”

“Ha, I wonder why?” Flora said sarcastically. “What could possibly have caused that?”

“Aye… weel. Since the upgrade I can see a lot mair emotions. I would ca’ maist purely positive emotions too.”

“Most?”

“Weel, I’m no’ sure lust is a purely positive emotion even if Cassandra is ca’in’ it a positive emotion.”

“I get that. But I can say I’m counting your lust for me as a positive emotion.”

“Ha, fair. So whit were ye thinkin’ as far as connections?”

“Well, obviously you should lust after me. I don’t know if that’s different from attraction or not.”

“It is.”

“Then both. Besides that I don’t know. I can’t see what we have and don’t know what you can make. I trust you Merida. I think you can see that.”

“I absolutely can. It’s actually very flatterin’.”

“Well, I guess my emotions are mostly an open book to you.”

That realization just hit Merida, “I hadnae considered that. I’m sorry if ye feel like I invaded yer privacy.”

“Not at all. I think you should use that bit for your benefit as you want. As for changing stuff, definitely ask the people involved first. As for us, I’ll trust your judgement. I just have one request, for every positive connection you make or strengthen from me to you, you make one from you to me.”

“I can dae that. Ye’re sure though?”

“Start off slow maybe? We don’t know how strong strengthening means. Might be a tiny amount, might be the difference between thinking someone is a little cute, to wanting to throw them on a bed and deflower them.”

“Okay, I’m goin’ tae try the attraction and lust I feel for ye.” Merida reached out and found those threads, but felt like they were ephemeral. Probably the collar, so thae arenae real threads. I cannae seem tae strengthen them. Can I make them real then? She found she could. They became substantial and tangible. Merida reached up to remove the collar.

“Darn I was hoping you would keep wearing that.”

“I might, but I wanted tae check how I saw ye withoot it noo. Okay, aye, so I made the effects o’ the collar permanent but only in regards tae you.”

“So you are straight but also Flora and Mary sexual now?”

“I suppose that would be accurate, aye.”

Flora grabbed the collar and threw it across the room. “Well then we don’t need that anymore. I might still get you your own collar though, you looked sexy wearing one. You also heard Mark.”

“Aye, my neck actually feels bare richt noo. I feel like I need tae incorporate somethin’ tae accentuate my neck frae noo on. I sort o’ thought I would be gettin’ a lot o’ black in my wardrobe frae the day but I dinnae feel that at all.”

“Well, I can tell you my own style was altered a little. I think it is more about the general stuff Mark likes and not making you goth or anything. After all, Mark has a goth.”

“That actually does make me a bit happier. Are you upset with Mark about the paws?”

“Not really. The suggestion that I’m more than just a kitty has helped me feel okay with being a kitty though.”

“I’m happy for you Kitty. Now, I’m going to strengthen a connection between us, tell me how you feel after I do.” Merida reached out and strengthened their mutual passion for one another. “How do you feel?”

“I don’t know what you changed. I know that something changed, but it’s subtle.”

“I feel that way too. I strengthen our mutual passion but it feels rather weak. Especially compared to creating a new thread..”

“Well if this is as strong as it gets feel free to go wild. Just try to keep things balanced between us.”

So Merida spent the rest of the night examining threads and either making new ones or strengthening the existing ones. Eventually the two fell asleep embracing one another.
