Heading To The Lodge (HD)

A white pickup truck drove down the main highway leading out of Dartwin; a small pile of bags and suitcases skidded around in the bed and inside sat four teens. Behind the steering wheel was Brian White, his short blonde hair perfectly styled, his blue eyes brighter than ever, and a very casual but still eye-catching button-up shirt and jeans on. In the passenger seat was his first pick-up that morning, Anna Ross, the blonde girl looking as beautiful as ever, her cozy white turtleneck hiding most of her natural assets but her cute face very much available and being admired often by the man next to her. Tucked in the back was Gwen Pace, the multi-colored hair girl sporting a much more drawing outfit of skin-tight jeans, a relatively tight t-shirt, and stylish denim over a jacket. Sitting next to her, doing his best to step up his game, was Kenny in a black button-up flannel and jeans.

Damn it, just look at them... Kenny found himself staring at Brian as he looked over to Anna, murmuring some quip to the girl, who let out a soft, cute laugh in return. They look so happy together, everything is so natural with them. It's like they're a real couple... Kenny **** his eyes away, letting out a very low, disappointed exhale, "Hey, you alright?" Gwen softly asked, reaching over and placing a hand on Kenny's arm, "You look sick or something?"

"C-Car sick," Kenny lied with a shake of his head. He worked up a weak smile to the brunette, "Always happens to me on long rides; it'll pass in a few, thanks." Gwen gave him a quick, comforting squeeze and returned the smile before looking back to her phone.

"I get that, I always hated long rides growing up, of course, mine were usually to the fucking airport to get on some dumbass jet to go, god, knows where," Gwen explained with a roll of her eyes, "I mean, yeah, going to Paris and Stockholm can be awesome but after the fifth time in a year it gets old, you know?" The party girl looked over to Kenny only to find him blankly staring back at him, "Oh...right, yeah you probably don't huh?" Gwen let out a slightly embarrassed half-laugh and looked back to her phone immediately.

Kenny let out a breathy laugh and looked back to the front, noting that Anna and Brian were still deep in their own conversation. The teen pursed his lips. If she can be happy with Brian why can't I be with Gwen? I mean, it's not like they are being shy up there. I shouldn't walk on eggshells because...what, she might have been jealous? Or maybe it's because I'm still jealous of her and him? That's first-grade shit. Kenny gave his head a quick shake and looked over to Gwen, "I...can kinda relate." He spoke up and Gwen peered over to him, looking slightly surprised, "Like, when I was younger, my dad always took us to the same amusement park for every family vacation. And eventually, I was like, God this gets pretty fucking old."

Gwen clicked the power on her phone and let it fall onto her lap, "I know right?!" She lightly laughed, "I mean, at least you got to do something with your parents. I always got set loose, you know? I mean, I could only shop for so long while they did their business meetings. It was such a drag."

"Maybe we should switch next time, I'll go to France or whatever, and you can go with my family to Amazing Fun-time Land, and throw up on the teacups," Kenny joked, The pair shared a laugh together as Anna peered in the rear view mirror at them.

"Or I could always just tag along with you and your family." Gwen suggested and Kenny's smile grew, "You might be sick of that place, but if I was there..." The brunette daintily rested her hand on Kenny's knee, "I think I could figure out some ways for us to have some fun."

Kenny's let out a very low, trailing-off laugh, "I don't doubt it." He nodded and Gwen gave him the quickest of winks as Brian finally turned the car off the highway, "Almost there, Bry?"

"Yeah, a few more minutes to the parking lot." Brian called back before looking back to Anna in the front seat, "Hey, you alright?" He softly asked, noting that the girl's smile was now gone and she looked ever so slightly frustrated.

"Fine...just car sick," Anna muttered back.

Thirty minutes later, the four teens had parked the truck at the base of Kaster Mountain, grabbed their bags, and jumped on a tramcar, riding it up the side. A short walk later, they found themselves right outside a large wooden ski lodge. Even during the summer, it was covered in snow, but the spruce trees were mostly free of the white blankets. The sun did what it could, but there was still a clear chill in the air though Brian seemed just about immune to the frigid temperature. "Ah, it's good to be home," The blonde teen grinned as he stopped at the base of the stone stairs that led to the front door, "What do you think? Told you, totally private, totally awesome, and all ours." Brian confidently stated as he spun around to face the trio.Anna hugged her body tightly, and her teeth chattered, "L-Looks awesome B-Bry...c-can we go i-in?"

Brian's eyes widened, "Oh shit, sorry, yeah. Let's get you inside where it's a little warmer." Brian took a few quick steps to Anna and grabbed her bag. "Here, let me."

"T-Thank you," Anna tucked her hands into her pockets and followed directly behind Brian as he ascended the steps.

Kenny frowned, watching as the pair went, "Coming, Ken?" Gwen bumped into him with her elbow, "Or are you staying out to freeze?"

The teen looked over to the brunette, who once again had the full, friendly smile, and he felt that calm rushing over him again, "Right behind you," Gwen and Kenny climbed the steps, reaching the top just as Brian opened the lodge door. The four teens all shuffled inside, and while out of the wind and chill, the lodge was far from warm and cozy. "Yeah, Bry...reeeeeeeal nice," Kenny joked as he looked around the near pitch-dark building."

"Oh, relax, the generator needs to get turned on, and we just need to get a little fire going in the den. This place will be warmed up in thirty minutes tops." Brian explained as he set down his bags, "Why don't you go do that, and I'll handle the power situation at the side shed. Might take me a few, but I'll get it."

"Let me give you an extra set of hands so we can get this place warmer faster," Gwen quickly offered, and Brian accepted with a nod, "Besides, I have a few questions about the mythical White family ski-lodge." Brian let out a chuckle as the pair headed to the front door and slipped back outside, leaving Kenny and Anna alone.
