Head straight to sleep

You open the door to your dorm room, L609. Incidentally, this is right next door. You’re glad you don’t really need to walk far — you like knowing the twins are living close by. You’re also really tired and want to get some shuteye.

You pass by the collection of boxes littered around your room. You’ll get to unpacking them, eventually. For now, you plop onto your bed and quickly undress. You plug your phone in so that it starts recharging overnight. The screen lights up: 17% battery.

Two potential new friends, one old and one new, were interested in communicating with you. Hmmm… maybe you have some time, now that you’re alone. It’s not that late to talk to one of them.

She was always a night owl, and college life is all about staying up past normal hours anyway… There was that other text, too… but somehow, it’s not there anymore. Searching your message box, you see an alert about a signal error, and that your unread texts may be lost.

And texting is not as intrusive as actually calling,, you figure. What’s she going to do? Block you for simply responding to her!?

You remember that you had a few unread messages earlier. Oh well, you think. If it was important, they’ll just message you again.
