Chapter 7

What happens next?
He tries to move on...
After returning from the grocery store, Sean tried to move past the incident.
He couldn't get over the idea that he had altered someone's life so drastically. Sure, she was still in college, and she obviously still worked at the bakery...but now she was a stripper. Somehow he'd not only given her some (admittedly) fantastic looking breasts, but he'd made her the type of girl who would get some expensive tits. Was it the money from stripping, a sugar daddy, her savings account? He just didn't want to think about it any more. By the time he got in the house, he decided to just push it to the back of his mind for now and deal with it later. Maybe he could find a way to change things back sometime. For now, _this _was Jenni's new reality.
The rest of the weekend past by without further incident...or further app uses.
He'd found his wife quite a bit less depressed than she was before the change. The longer he spent time with her, the little things seemed to pop out that he'd missed when they were younger. She no longer took any prescription medications. Not even a daily allergy pill, to say nothing of her litany of pain meds. She was fully healthy in every way. Mind, body, and soul, it seemed. Even her dyed pink hair seemed healthier and more shiny. He relished in his ability to tickle her, pick her up, and even kiss her neck without a complaint from her lips. Normally the soft kisses on the side of her neck caused muscle spasms that ended every bit of play time.
They enjoyed a nice couple of days just cleaning the house together then enjoying the patio outside their townhome. The spring weather made the temperature beautiful, and perfect for grilling some steaks. He and his wife enjoyed it all with smiles and love. When night came and the grill had cooled, they laid in the grass and counted the stars. Jessica would not have been able to do that before. She'd have had a headache, body pains, or she just might not want to do anything because of how down and depressed she felt. "Healthy," it seems, also healed her mental state from years of chronic pain.
Later that first night, after they had made out under the stars like a couple of teenagers, Sean and Jessica McNamara went up to their bedroom and made love before falling asleep. This was the first time they had been intimate in years. When they woke up Sunday morning, they made love again. It was sweet and beautiful...which was how they spent the rest of their weekend. Just enjoying each other's company and being in love. Despite the change he had made to Jennifer Fredricks, Sean felt it was worth it if it meant his wife was healthy and happy again.
Monday rolled around and the alarm went off too early for Sean. Jessica slept soundly beside him, her snoring gone. He silenced the alarm, put on his glasses and smartwatch, then took his phone off the charger.
No notifications from The App. Sean had decided that he'd tempted fate enough and vowed not to use it anymore. The consequences of these changes would be too great a cost to affect anything else.
He showered, trimmed his beard, and got dressed in a simple pair of jeans and a powder blue polo shirt. Sean got his lunchbox ready, took his morning medicine, then headed out the door and off to work. The drive in was quick as he only lived fifteen minutes from work. At around six forty-five, Sean swiped his badge and headed inside to his desk.
When he got into the office he sat down at his desk and started his computer. He was usually the first one in the office, but today he noticed that Emily Dallient, the girl with the desk next to his, was already working. The clicks of her keyboard were flying as she seemed to be trying to finish something in a hurry. Chuckling, Sean sat in his chair and turned toward Emily. He regarded the back of the slim Asian girl and smirked as he prepared to get a jab in at her constant procrastination. He took a breath with a great zinger waiting on his tongue when she spoke up and warned him, "I swear to God if you mention anything about how late I am in getting this report to David I'm going to poison your oatmeal." Her British accent was noticeable as she spun around with a playful frown on her soft tanned face. Her almond eyes were still nice and kind despite the threats she made to him. "I went out to a whiskey bar this weekend and, no, I don't want to talk about it."
Sean held up his hands in surrender and laughed with a bright smile on his face, "OK! OK! I won't mention it at all." He turned around and chuckled as his computer finally booted up and he began loading up the programs he needed. With his open order report sitting in front of him ready to be sent off to his suppliers, Sean loaded up his email and his phone buzzed.
It was The App. With curiosity, and intending to keep his vow not to make any changes, he read what it offered: "Emily Dallient was born in England."
Sean's face paled and his vision began its now familiar tunnelling as he saw something new under the offered phrase: a ten-minute timer.
What does Sean do?
