He tries to kiss her; she flees

After they had talked about their plans for college, as Dustin had opted to take a year off so he could wait for Victoria to graduate high school, he reached his hand to her cheek again and caressed the spot with his thumb. Victoria became uncomfortable, but she didn’t have the heart to tell him.

“So, Vicky, tell me,” He spoke in a more serious tone. “Any guys in your life after I left?”

“Well,…” The blonde stammered, she didn’t want to talk about that with Dustin, of all people.

“It’s ok, you can tell me,” He tried to reassure her. “It’s not like we were together.”

“I’ve dated a little, but…”

“I didn’t,” Dustin interrupted her, as if he hadn’t heard what she said. “But like I said, it’s ok.”

“Stop interrupting me, okay?” Victoria snapped, taking his hand off her face. “There’s a guy, Dustin.”

However, Dustin seemed unfazed. “Well then, allow me to make you forget about him,” He propped up on his seat. “That way you’ll realize who you’re meant to be.”

He then leaned in for a kiss, but at the last second, a suddenly alarmed Victoria slightly pushed him off her personal space. “Wait!” She said. “Where’s the bathroom?”

“There.” Dustin replied, startled. He pointed out at a hallway to the left side of the living room.

Victoria jumped to her feet and ran to the door. “Thanks!” She yelled before she entered the bathroom and closed the door after her, making sure she locked it as well.

She stood with her back to the door for several seconds until she slid down to a sitting position. Tears began to find their way into her green eyes as the blonde contemplated the unfairness of her situation.

”Dammit, Zack!” She mentally cursed him. ”I've spent months dreaming that Dustin would come back and now that he did, all I can think of is you!”
