He has a surprising proposition for you.
"So, there's this whole thing about me having to live as Tammy Barnes, right? Makes it kinda tricky for us to get together?" Randall said.
"I was wondering how we could get around that," you sighed.
"And you know how your dad has been on your case about getting a part-time job?" she continued.
"Yeah..." you said slowly. You were still having trouble putting this woman's voice with the mental image of your best friend.
"well I've had one of my brilliant ideas. I found you a job that will let us see each other every day. That way we can take care of both problems. We get to hang out without drawing attention and you get your folks off your back about working. And you'll even get good money!"
You were speechless. Randall calling you out of the blue was shocking enough. But you would have never thought he would be offering you a job! "Okay, what kind of deal is this?" you asked. "I miss you, man, and really want to see you. But a job? What exactly are we talking about here?"
"Don't worry, it won't be bad. I mean, you will have to actually do some stuff - but I'll make sure we have plenty of time to goof off," she said excitedly. "I used my new status to pull some strings. I managed to get you a job ..."
