He has a longshot of a guess.

The two sit in their auto pilot body for the next few hours just bored. On the way home, Gary had the body buy a stuffed toy while it picked up milk and eggs.

"How's that going to help?" Nat asks.

"I got a theory. If this thing can fuse us maybe we can swap stuff out. This is just the test run." Gary says.

Once home the body puts things away and changes into some sweats. The two kind of chant to get the body to put the stuffed cat toy next to them on the couch and sit there.

"Me or you?" Gary asks.

"What?"

"Me or you swapping with the toy?"

"You I guess." Nat says.

The two focus and swap all of Gary's parts with the toy. Sure enough Gary's body is sitting there. They then swap his conciseness in to it. Gary stands.

"I'm me." he says now realizing he is naked and covering himself.

"Yeah, I'm not though." Nat says.

Gary looks down to see what is best described as a furry version of Natalie. Her feet were now like big fuzzy slippers and the only thing that looked organic was her hair.

"This is only a test. We can go back to auto pilot body if you want." Gary says sheepishly.

"No. Today was supposed to be my last day there anyway. We can fix it tomorrow." Natalie says flexing her fuzzy hands. "I think I have stuffing."

Gary squeezes her arm and she is definitely soft. He watches Natalie walk over to the bathroom and shut the door. He puts on some clothes and returns to see her exiting.

"Everything is there. It's just furry. Like I could strip and you wouldn't see anything." she says. "Might do that tomorrow."

Gary shakes his head and gets some food together.
