Kill the elf? or spare him?
He finds another way
The young elf clearly lacked basic combat training but Nathan had to admit, the boy was determined. Amrynn swung his sword wildly at Nathan as the soldier continued to side step his strikes as he lamented what to do. Nathan watched as the boy tired himself out, struggling to swing the oversized sword while being weighed down by ill-fitting armor. Effie's screams echoed in the pit as she yelled for her brother to stop. Finally the young elf was tired and breathing heavily struggling to lift the blade, Nathan grabbed the boy's wrist and crushed it until he released the sword. He grabbed the elf's chest plate and ripped off the armor, tossing it aside. The crowd watched as Nathan swung the boy around and launched him out of the pit and into the crowd. The elves quickly circled Amrynn who was unharmed aside from some minor scrapes and bruises.
"I am the only man still alive in this pit." He yelled towards the elders. 'I believe that makes me the victor."
The elders nodded in agreement, they were grateful the human had spared Laertes' son when their own rules allowed for him to kill the young elf. Effie jumped into the pit, ran over to Nathan and threw her arms around him. She cried into his chest as she thanked him over and over again for sparing her brother's life. Nathan hugged her back, having grown up with no family and rarely making connections with others, he couldn't remember the last time someone had hugged him so sincerely.
"So what happens now?" He asked her.
What happens on the wedding night?
