He discusses their relationship

Maxy looked unsure, so Curtis took the attack. "Hey, what're you doing here?" he said, approaching his short ex wife.

"Hi Curtis," she said, her voice light, but professional. It had predictably aged with the rest of her, but it still surprised Curtis. He'd seen recent photos of her through social media, but realized now that he hadn't heard her voice. It made him a little sad, remembering her reading poetry to him, with her getting so frustrated that her high voice couldn't convey the gravitas of something like Tennyson's The Kraken. "I brought you something I found cleaning out storage. I, um, thought you'd want it." She tried to hold up the bag, but it was clearly a little too heavy.

Curious, Curtis took the leather bag and opened it, crouching down so it rested on his knee. His old typewriter, fun decoration from the old store, was looking up at him. "Wow, this is... old. I can't believe you still had it," he said.

"Well, I mean, it's valuable," she said, looking away. Her eyes scanned the Museum. "And by the way I was just in town for something else," she said.

"Is that really the only reason you came?" he asked. He looked up at her, zipping up the case.

"Well... no. I guess I came to see this museum. I've never been before," she lied.

Curtis was curious what the truth was, knowing that there really should be another reason, and that clearly wasn't it. Rather than push the issue, he decided to direct it. "No, I think you came for closure. You wanted to see me because you wanted to talk about what happened. Am I wrong?"

She sighed, deflating a little. "Yeah, I guess I did. It's... it's been long enough. I just really think I'd like to settle some things. Get some questions answered."

Curtis nodded, and wordlessly lead her to the security office. "I can still watch the monitors from here," he explained.

Maxy pulled up another chair, facing Curtis. She leaned forward, putting her head in her hands. Not beating around the bush, she said, "You know, Curt, the thing that's haunted me is that I've been trying to find a place where it all fell apart. It feels like there should be one thing. One event. Something specific that made us so unhappy. I keep thinking I've got it." She met Curtis' eyes. "Over and over, I think I've picked out the moment, and I feel so much better about things. And then the next day I realize that wasn't it either. I think I've come to accept that there wasn't one. Not something that either of us did."

"Oh? I can think of one." Curtis suppressed a smile.

She looked confused, clearly not getting the reaction she expected. "What? What was it?"

"Maybe she didn't tell you. Did your identical twin sister, Luna tell you I caught you two fucking?" Curtis asked, conjuring a twin into existence. "Didn't she tell you that I found out you two have been in a relationship since you were teenagers?"

His ex wife's jaw dropped the moment he was done talking. She spluttered, trying to form words.

Curtis inspected the monitors, nonchalantly. Nothing going on. "Look, I don't blame you. I mean, I did for a while, but I don't anymore. I get why you couldn't tell anyone, and why you had to keep it hidden. Besides," he grinned at her lewdly, "do we know anyone who can resist a sexy, curvy goth with awesome tits and a big butt?"
