He catches up with them by nightfall

Aaralon could only stare at first as the twins raced off along the hills, moving with surprising speed even for elves. Not about to be left behind, he chased after them, glad to be wearing sensible travelling clothes instead of dragging mage robes. But even though Aaralon was quite fit for a wizard, and continuously cast simple air cantrips to aid his breathing, he soon found himself lagging behind as the elves sped on ahead of him as though they were wearing wings instead of leather armor, soon lost in the gathering dusk.

A sense of alarm began to creep over the young wizard, and he began to wonder if they would really just leave him behind. As night fell, he stopped even his jogging pace, ambling on straight ahead at an exshausted pace, wondering what to do.

Then, as he crested a large hill, he caught the gleam of a campfire in the distance. Renewing his efforts, he screambled down the slope and finally reaced the fire and saw a simple tent pitched, the two twins lounging by the fire in their armor, seeming quite rested, and with mocking smiles on their faces as they looked up at Aaralon who stumbled forward, exhausted and drenched in sweat.

"Well, decided to join us after all?" murmured Annex coldly, though with a glint in her eyes. "I thought you would turn tail and crawl back to the school. Not quite the human weakling you look to be, hmm?" smirking, Annex rose to her feet and quietly stepped into her tent. Aura turned a slightly **** look on the wizard, though her eyes also glittered with amusement. "Don't worry, Aaralon. This was a test of sorts, to see if you had some determination. We'll move a little slower tomorrow." She chuckled softly and pointed toward a nearby stream "You can have a bath if you feel the need of it...oh and then you can make some dinner." Rising to her feet as well, she turned and joined her sister in the tent before Aaralon could even get his breath back. He shuddered softly as he swept some sweat from his brow, grumbling under his breath... the elven twins clearly wanted to make sure he knew who was leading the party...
