He Goes to Monto's place

He arrives at the place and knocks on the door.

Monto: Come in.

Emid opens the door and sees Monto sitting at her table. She has changed. She seems to be in stockings and a robe. He sits across from her. She is having tea and has a cup for him too.

Emid: so what did you want to discuss here?

Monto: Oh, just how you felt your education prepared you for the guard. Also, if you know how it worked for your sister and Kimi, that would help. I don’t dare ask Kimi to come out since her home life keeps her… restricted. I invited your sister the same way, but she never showed up. I suppose the demands of a physician’s apprentice are high.

Emid: Indeed. I never saw anyone study as hard as her.

Monto: But what did you think?

Emid: I think you did a great job. You didn’t really teach use much about combat and patrols, but you did teach strategy, which has served me well since I am not very strong. You also taught us about the history of battles that helped me pass some of the academic tests required if the guard. Your first aid class was excellent and helped me pass that requirement. However, I hardly understand the politics of other Kingdoms. Everyone talks about the money of Finfar, the Nantian aggression, and the elf king and witches on the Mysterious Isle, but I don’t know the facts of any of this.

Monto: Oh dear. That is true. I suppose I could cover some of that in vague terms.

Emid: Why not tell us the actual facts?

Monto: The facts are complicated and I don’t know all of them. Our intelligence service probably has a good idea, but loyalty paints their judgement, even if I could get their reports.

Emid: Oh, I see. You always told use the relationship among kingdoms were a powder keg that could ignite at any moment.

Monto: It’s not that dramatic. But the queen has her preferences and teachers aren’t exempt from her methods of discipline.

Emid: Oh, I see.

Monto: I’d rather not elaborate.

Emid: Like I said, I see.

Monto: How is your tea?

As she said that, she leaned forward and scooted her seat toward Emid. She was sitting at a chair perpendicular to Emid and the scoot brought her further within reach. The robe had revealed her thick but firm thigh.
