Well, he awaited the arrival of his nurse doctor Kellerman took stock of his next action. The doctor knew what he was about to do wasn't without risk should it fail the progress he had made with Batgirl risked being undone. This wasn't something that Kellerman took lightly he had put a lot of time and effort into gaining Batgirl's trust and would hate to see all that effort be for not.
At the same time though if Batgirl was successful in proving her commitment to not only the doctor but also her treatment Kellerman would know it was safe to move forward with the next stage of his plan. In the end, Kellerman decided the reward was worth the risk, and after taking a deep breath he began to explain to his patient just what kind of test he was about to give her.
"In a few moments, one of my nurses will be bringing down a cart filled with items," Kellerman said as he looked into his patient's eyes. "Among the contents of this cart will be the costume of yours that we removed upon your arrival minus your mask of course," the doctor said as he continued to squeeze Batgirl's mask in the palm of his hand.
"What for Doctor?" Batgirl asked having not seen her costume since she first arrived at Arkham. Those early days of her treatment had been rough for Batgirl so much so that she had done everything she could not to think of them.
"So you can set it and this mask on fire" Kellerman boldly stated as he lifted Batgirl's mask in his arm. This was an important moment for both doctor and patient as he waited to see how Batgirl would react to his words.
"On fire?" Batgirl asked taken aback by the words her doctor had just spoken.
"Of course, you no longer need the costume or this mask right? The doctor asked his patient.
"Right," Batgirl said hesitantly her voice shaking with uncertainty.
