Has science gone too far?

In the deep secret underground facility of Horizon Labs, scientists were running back and forth, speaking in scientific jargon and readying their clipboards to prepare for the experiment that would grace these cold metal walls.

Today was a big day. For years, Horizon Labs has researched in transcending the human form. An evolution long overdue, some would say.

Hundreds of thousands of people died per year in car accidents, and Horizon Labs wanted to fix that. Thus, they had researched various accidents to find out what went wrong. That's when they realized: the car might be durable, but the humans were not. With airbags not being enough, they simply came to the conclusion that humans needed to be engineered to be more bouncy.

And that's when, after months of studies, they found their solution in an unlikely source: marshmallows.

With a simple mixture of sugar, water, and gelatin, marshmallows reached a texture where they were soft and fluffy as a cloud. Surely if airbags didn't fully take the impact, then it was up to humans to become living airbags.

And thus, the big secret experiment was being done today with a crowd of scientists overseeing the project. With such a highly delicate process, it was imperative that a large number of scientists be on board. Any miscalculation left unchecked could spell disaster.

"Today is a great day for science. For it is the advent of the human-marshmallow hybrid!" The Horizon Labs CEO beamed as he declared proudly to the assembled scientists who settled down, the main preparation work and last minute checks having been done.

"If this is a success, we have the solution for all trauma-related injuries or deaths! No more shall we fear the end peeping at around any corner! I have full trust in this project going well. As such, I won't hold you back any further. Commence the experiment! "

And with that, the experiment room was closed off with thick bulletproof glass, ensuring no one could get in or out.

Silence permeated the room as tensions were high for everything to go right. The human egg was fertilized with sperm, the thin syringe held by a long robotic arm controlled through the glass having injected the load into an opening in the artificial uterus situated smack dab in the middle of the experiment room for all to see.

After the first step, the robot arm retreated through a hole in the wall, leaving another holding a thicker syringe to replace it. The syringe contained chemicals which simulated the marshmallow fluff combined with human growth hormones, being injected into the egg after fertilization occurred and initial growth started.

After what seemed like hours, the activity in the womb started ramping up. The growth was rapid, forming a human form with sticky, white skin.

The scientists watched in utter awe and silence as the homunculus formed extremely quickly, soon emerging from the artificial womb to continue it's rapid growth until finally, it took on the form of an adult voluptuous young woman with gooey marshmallow skin, standing up with it's impressive curves.
