By the time Mazzy and Dakota are home, Sirona has joined the rest of you in the living room, and you’re all enjoying a relaxing afternoon. You’re happy to see Sirona opening up to Ellie and Kenna, as they share stories from both the old world and the new. You note that Kenna is rather reticent to discuss her life before coming through the portal, but you figure that if she doesn’t want to talk about it, then that’s her choice.

Mazzy and Dakota come in, energetic as always. Dakota leaps into your lap, wrapping her arms around your neck and giving you a big kiss.

“Hey daddy! Did ya miss us?”

You chuckle. “Of course, you know I always do.”

Mazzy laughs. “You weren’t distracted by the new girl?”

Sirona blushes, and you roll your eyes. “No, actually. You can blame Kenna and Ellie for today’s distraction.”

Kenna grins. “It was a lot of fun!”

Ellie giggles. “Kenna w-was a bit o-of a show off.”

The dragon girl flexes, laughing. “Don’t act like you didn’t like mommy taking control like that!”

Dakota pouts. “I wanna play with mommy too!”

Kenna winks at her. “Later tonight? It’s a date!”

Now it’s Mazzy’s turn to roll her eyes. “So what were you doing, Sirona?”

The manticore shrugs, blushing again. “I was… I organized the supplies Brian bought me. And…I watched.”

Mazzy raises an eyebrow. “You watched?”

Sirona nods. “I was…peeking. When they…you know…”

Dakota grins. “It was super hot, wasn’t it? It’s fun to watch!”

Sirona nods, blushing furiously. Dakota smiles, hopping off your lap and putting an arm around Sirona’s shoulders. “Hey, you wanna come watch Kenna and I tonight? It’ll be fun!”

Sirona seems to think for a moment, biting her lip, before nodding again. Dakota claps her hands excitedly and kisses Sirona on the cheek. “Yay! It’s always better with an audience!”

Mazzy laughs, shaking her head. “I swear, Dakota is even more insatiable than the rest of us!”

Dakota sticks her tongue out at Mazzy, who just rolls her eyes again. “Anyway, I’m going to go make dinner. Sirona, do you want to come help again?”

Sirona’s face lights up in a smile. “Yes! I mean…if you don’t mind…”

Mazzy laughs. “Come on, then.”

The two of them head off to the kitchen, and you smile to see the excitement in Sirona’s face. The other girls notice too, with Kenna chuckling to herself.

“I think she wants Mazzy’s approval.”

Ellie nods. “W-well, she is basically in charge n-now.”

You laugh. “Fair enough. And thanks for making her feel so welcome, all of you.”

Dakota smiles, and for once there’s nothing joking or teasing about her.
