Hannah's bestfriend calls

Hannah was snuggled deep in the blanket fort, her sippy cup almost empty, when her phone buzzed loudly from the coffee table. She furrowed her brows, **** to leave her cozy spot, but Brian reached over and handed her the phone with a smile.

“Looks like someone really wants to talk to my little girl,” he teased.

Hannah glanced at the screen and saw her best friend Lucy’s name flashing. She hadn’t spoken to Lucy in a couple of weeks, and the timing of the call surprised her. “It’s Lucy!” she exclaimed, wiggling with excitement before answering.

“Hey, Lucy!” Hannah chirped, pressing the phone to her ear. But instead of the cheerful greeting she expected, she was met with the sound of Lucy sobbing uncontrollably. Hannah’s playful smile melted away, replaced by concern. “Lucy? What’s wrong?”

“H-Hannah…” Lucy’s voice cracked as she tried to catch her breath between sobs. “I-I got my BAM Test results today, and… I f-failed too.”

Hannah sat up straighter, her heart sinking at her friend’s distress. “Oh, Lucy, it’s okay! I failed mine too. It’s not so bad…”

But Lucy cut her off, her voice rising in despair. “It is bad! I don’t want to be… I don’t want this! I don’t want to be classified as a little! My parents are furious, Hannah. They said they can’t deal with this and… and they’re throwing me out!”

Hannah gasped, her free hand flying to her mouth. “What? Lucy, no! They can’t do that!”

“They already have,” Lucy whimpered. “They said if I’m going to be a little, then I can go find someone else to take care of me because they’re done. I… I don’t know what to do, Hannah. I’m so scared.”

Hannah felt her own eyes welling up with tears, her chest aching for her friend. She glanced at Brian, who was watching her closely, his protective instincts already kicking in. She knew he would know what to do.

“Lucy, hang on, okay?” Hannah said softly. “I’m handing the phone to my daddy. He’ll help.”
