He will invite her to become Hannah’s sister

Lucy’s sobs softened slightly on the other end of the line as she heard the phone being handed off, but her confusion was clear when Brian’s deep, reassuring voice came through. “Hi, Lucy. It’s Brian—Hannah’s daddy.”

There was a pause, followed by a shaky, incredulous laugh. “D-Daddy? Wait a second… Brian, what are you talking about? You’re Hannah’s boyfriend.”

Brian chuckled softly, his tone calm and steady. “I am, Lucy. But things have changed for Hannah, and I think it’s important you know she’s already embraced her new life as a little. In fact, she’s sitting here with me right now, all cozy in her blanket fort and a nice, thick nappy, feeling as happy as can be.”

“W-What?” Lucy stammered, her voice filled with a mix of shock and disbelief. “Hannah’s… okay with this? She’s… she’s happy about it?”

“More than happy,” Brian said warmly. “And I want to help you see that being little doesn’t have to be something scary or bad. It’s a chance to let go of all the pressures and responsibilities you’ve been carrying and just be cared for, loved, and protected.”

Lucy sniffled again, clearly overwhelmed. “But… I don’t even know where to go. My parents won’t let me come back, and I… I can’t do this alone.”

Brian’s voice softened, but there was no mistaking the conviction in his words. “You don’t have to do it alone, Lucy. If you’re comfortable, I’d like to invite you to come stay with us. Hannah would love to have you here, and we can treat you like her sister. You’d have a safe place to live, people who care about you, and no more worries about trying to manage everything by yourself.”

There was silence on the line as Lucy tried to process what she was hearing. “Y-You’d do that? Even… even if I’m like this?”

“Of course,” Brian replied. “But there’s one thing I need to be clear about. If you stay with us, you’ll be treated like a little—just like Hannah. That means no grown-up stress, no big responsibilities, and yes, nappies and a lot of cuddles along the way. Or, if you’d prefer, I can pick you up and take you to a proper little nursery where there are caregivers trained to help littles adjust.”

Lucy let out a shuddering breath. “I-I don’t know, Brian. It’s all so much…”

“That’s okay,” Brian said gently. “You don’t have to decide right this second. But I want you to know that you’re not alone. Whatever you decide, we’ll be here to help you.”

Hannah, who had been listening intently the whole time, leaned closer to Brian and whispered, “Tell her I’ll share my stuffies with her.”

Brian smiled, repeating the offer. Lucy let out a watery laugh, the sound tinged with both relief and hesitation.
