Gwen’s Choice

You wake up after finally falling asleep, Gwen isn’t next to you and you suddenly remember what happened last night. Mixed Emotions. On the one hand, you lost your virginity, on the other, you’re pretty sure you got a girl pregnant.

You lay in bed in anxiety for awhile, staring up at the ceiling. But then you start to think “where’s Gwen?” You get up out of bed quickly and shout her name to no answer.

You walk quickly downstairs only to see Gwen sitting on the couch, curled up in a blanket. “Hey, Gwen?” you say, but she still doesn’t look over at you. You walk slowly over and kneel in front of her looking straight up into her face. She wipes her nose as if she’s been crying all morning and you feel awful.

“Gwen... I’m so sorry”

She closes her eyes and puts her head against yours.

“What are we going to do Sam?” She starts to cry again and you can’t take it anymore. You sit down on the couch next to her and wrap both your arms around her. You hug her tight and wipe the tears from her face. Gwen pushes her body even closer to yours, wanting you to fully embrace her in a comfortable way.

You rub her stomach and put your head on top of hers.

“Sam... I’m keeping it if I’m pregnant... “ Your heart drops and flutters at the same time. You’re going to be a dad... at 18.

You realize you have to say something back, but you don’t know what to say, you’re still in shock.

Gwen grabs your arm “Sam... I want you to know you don’t have t-“ you put your hand over her mouth. “I’ll support you no matter what, it’s my responsibility too.”

Gwen smiles for the first time in a long time and lays her head back under your chin.

“It’ll be alright Gwen... I promise.”
