Guardian Angel

Zack huddled behind the desk and slowly raised his head to peer though the open door of the classroom. He could see the shadows moving down the hallway. They had passed by the classroom and were heading towards to the gym.

He looked back at his friends. Gavin was tapping something on the PDA strapped to his wrist while his plasma carabine rested on his knee. Gavin looked up at him. "It looks like they are heading to the Gym." he whispered.

"I can see that." Zack whispered back. "How about a way out?"

"It looks all clear down the hall, take the stairs and then head.... right and take the fire exit. It's too far to the lobby." Gavin whispered.

"Okay let's do this." Zack whispered has he stood up and drew his mono-molecular sword. Chloe did the same while Gavin tuck the carabine against his shoulder. All three wore the same grey power armor. "The others should be able to cover us once we get outside."

They quietly left the classroom and made their way to the stairs and down to the next floor. They turned to the fire escape doors when they suddenly burst open when a pair of giant Hyenas smashed the doors down. Zack could see more of the giant beasts behind them. "RUN!" he yelled and they sprinted down the hallway towards the lobby. The Hyenas ran after them and the sound of their laughter filled the hallways. It seemed to come from everywhere at once.

The hallway twisted and turned has they ran. Hyenas kept smashing the classroom doors and jump at them but they managed to stay just ahead of their foot-long fangs. Now the laughter was coming out of the PA system.

"FASTER!" Zack yelled "We got to make it!" to himself he thought 'The next corner! It's around the next corner'. They turned the next corner and finally reached the lobby. A bunch of Hyenas and Jackals milled around the school lobby. "AARRGG!" Zack screamed has he beheaded a Hyena and then another with a back stroke. Chloe slided across the floor feet first and split a Hyena in two with her sword. From behind Gavin's rifle had turned into a rocket launcher, the rocket blasted a hole at the entrance and scattered the pack of Hyenas and jackals.

They ran thought the hole and into the Serengeti plains. Zack glanced back, the school was the only building on the plains; he saw a wave of laughing Hyenas burst out of every door and window of the school and chased them across the plains. When Zack looked forward, he found himself running through a forest, still the Hyenas ran after him and he could hear their laughter inside his helmet. He burst through the trees and found himself on the slopes of a mountain. downslope he could see still see the Serengeti plains. Looking up he saw three giant women, easily 15 feet tall. He instantly recognized the three has Liesel Van Helsing, Sela Mathers and Alice Liddle. He was shocked to see them just like in the comic books; except they were towering over him with giant breast that almost blocked their faces from him. All three stood in front of a tall cave. The path to the cave was flanked by torches and the top was also lit with torches.

Zack skidded to a stop and heard Gavin scream in terror and run back into the forest. He looked around but Chloe was also gone, across the clearing he saw Bonnie sitting on a rock taking selfies and writing on her notepad.

"ZACK!" he heard Alice call to him while she petted a white rabbit "Quick! Go into the cave now!"

"Claim the Sword of Conan!" Sela Mathers said pointing to cave with her sword.

"Only then can you defeat the beasts in the night!" Liesel van Helsing said while the laughter of the hyenas grew louder and closer.

"Over here Zack" he heard another voice and he turned to look downslope. He saw Ashley, Victoria and Heather. "This way!" Victoria called to him while Ashley pointed to the plains below. "C'mon Bishop! Move your butt." Heather said annoyed with her hands on her tilted hips.

Zack looked back and forth between the two groups unsure of where to go with everything spinning around till he tripped over his feet and fell to the ground.

He tried to sit up and saw Judge Anderson standing next to him blasting away with a pulse rifle at the horde of Hyenas and Jackals surging from the forest.

"Get up and fight soldier! Or do you want to live forever!" she said has she kicked him.

"Get up Zack! Or are you going to sleep forever?" Sylvie kicked Zack in his leg.

"What?" Zack said.

"You're going to be late for the tryouts." Chloe said.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm going, I'm going." Zack groaned has he got up and gathered his books before heading out to the gym "See you after practice."

Zack and Gavin went to the Gym for the basketball tryouts and didn't notice Shawn coming up behind them. Shawn was just about to push Gavin into a girl in the hallway when he suddenly felt a hand slam him in the chest and push him back.

"Don't even think about it." Peter said. "Leave those kids alone."

"Yeah right!" You and what army" Shawn said has he went around Peter "You'd better mind your own business if you know what good for you." He turned around to follow Gavin and Zack but they were already too far away.

"I know what you’re up to you freak!" Peter yelled at Shawn

"Yeah, Yeah whatever." Shawn said has he walked away.
