Chapter 12 by brambank brambank

Which should Leanne press?

Ground floor

Leanne felt like she'd seen more than enough of what happened in Rosefield Manor at this point. She just wanted to leave. So pressing the button for the bottom floor she waited nervously until the lift began to slowly move. She was grateful it wasn't dropping through the shaft but wished it would hurry up so she could get out of there.

Soon the door slid open and Leanne prepared to step out. However she found herself face to face with a familiar face. Dan, the tall, attractive man she’d met earlier.

"Hi," she grinned. Happy to see him again until she remembered when she’d last seen him.

"Oh, er, hey, Leanne." he replied awkwardly. “Nice to see you again.”

There was a long silence before Leanne was **** to say something. "So, um… I don’t suppose there’s anything you need a hand with, is there?" Leanne blushed a little as she thought about the potential double meaning of her question.

"Well actually," continued Dan. "There is something you can help me with."

"Anything!" squeaked Leanne. A little too eagerly.

"Can you find my friend. Gary." replied the staff member. Taking to real notice of Leanne's desperation. "He should be on the second floor. Tell him to meet me in room 134. There's something we need to do."

"No problem," grinned Leanne. "I'll... We'll see you there."

Leanne watched the ruggedly handsome man walk away. Admiring his toned rear as he left. She smiled deviously to herself as she imagined getting to know this guy a lot better and rectifying her earlier mistake.

She stepped back inside the elevator and pressed to button to head back up. She arrived safely on the second floor and immediately set off in search of Dan's friend. She soon spotted him waddling around the corridor.

"Oh hey, Leanne," smiled Gary. Failing to hide his delight.

"Oh… Gary." she replied with an awkward **** grin. "How’s it going?" There was a long pause while Gary stared at Leanne with a giddy grin. "I have a message from Dan," she replied. "He wants you to meet him in room 134."

"Okay, great." responded the young man. "Do you want to come with me?"

"Sure," smiled Leanne. Happy for another opportunity to see the good-looking guy she'd just met. Though she suspected Gary was confident it would be him who got a second chance.

She allowed the rotund man to lead her back down to the next floor until they reached the room. Gary knocked on the door before entering, followed by Leanne. She looked around hoping to see Dan but there was no-one inside. The room empty of all life but for those two.

"Strange." mused Leanne. "He said he'd be here."

"I'll go find him." responded Gary. "You wait here."

With that he was gone. Leaving Leanne alone in the quiet room.

What should Leanne do?
