Your mother peeks her head out of her office. "Mom? Dad?"

Your grandma was waiting for her with her arms crossed. Your grandpa on the other hand has recovered impressively, feeling that greeting his daughter was more important than reacting to the unbelievable sight before him. "Get out here and give your Dad a hug my girl."

Your mother walks out slowly. Both happiness and trepidation playing across her face. Finally a big smile blooms and she rushes to her dad. "Papa! Mom!" She hugs her dad as her mother continues to wait, unimpressed at what she was seeing with you. Her dad hugs her close with a look of pure joy on his timeworn face. "You should have called or something. Let us know you were coming." Your mother says. She goes and hugs her mom whose stern posture instantly melts as she returns the embrace. "We've missed you guys." Your mother sighs.

Your grandma strokes her daughters head. "We've missed you too Helen. All of you."

As they split your mom looks over to you, pride in her eyes. "You've caught us in the middle of one crazy week. Especially for Jesse."

They all look over at you and you give them a pretty smile. "Surprise." You say, mimicking your grandmother's statement from earlier.

The two of them approach you and take a closer look at you. Their soft tanned hands stroke your arms and face, as if testing to see if it was only skin deep. Their earthy hippie aroma was intoxicating and the unmasked love and concern in their eyes really made you feel really special. They have El stand beside you to compare the two of you side by side and marvel at the identical appearance. Your mother once more falsely claims she can tell the difference.

Over the next hour a redacted account of your discovery about yourself and your miraculous transformation at the hands of your aunt is recounted. They were both surprised to hear it was their own daughter that performed the procedure on you. You explain just how happy you are and also tell them how looking like your sister had taken everyone by surprise. Even they admit it seemed appropriate given how close the two of you were when you were younger. You were all sitting in the living room at this point sipping on a tea El made for you all. The pair of them sit quietly as they listen. Once the story is recounted you all wait as they process the news. Many long silent minutes tick by.

Finally your grandpa breaks the silence. "Groovy."

Your grandma echoes the statement. "Well...if you're happy Jesse, that's what matters." You nod to tell her you are indeed.

Grandpa looks up at you. "I do wish I'd come earlier and given you that man-to-man I wanted to have with you. I waited too long." There was a wistful regret about him, yet not an ounce of blame or judgment.

Your grandma laughs. "He always talked about that man-to-man with Jesse. It was part of the reason for this trip actually." She looks over at you. "Just a few days too late...wow. Not that it would have changed anything for you Jesse, we understand that." She reaches over and squeezes your hand. "It just meant so much to him."

You were touched. Part of the reason he'd come thousands of miles was just to have a talk with you! It was flattering to say the least. A phone call wasn't enough, he obviously wanted to have this conversation face to face. You would have loved to hear it.

You look at him. "I'm sorry Grandpa."

He shakes his head. "You've got nothing to apologize for Jesse. It's okay." He smiles up at his twin granddaughters with a kind warm loving face, his hazel eyes twinkling with love. "Now I've got two little flowers in my garden."

You and El sigh happily in unison.

He takes a breath and slaps his knees as he gets to his feet. "Well, I'll go get the bags." He looks to your mother. "Assuming you don't mind us crashing here."

Grandma adds. "We can get a hotel if we'll cramp your style. Or stay with Peggy."

Your mother smiles. "Of course you're welcome here! We've actually got a free bedroom at the moment since our girls here decided to share a room."

"Oh!?" Your grandparents say, surprised that you'd give up your room.

You raise a finger. "Er...actually, it's kind of Chloe's room now." You look at your mom. "She's agreed to move in."

Your mother shoots a nervous look at her parents. Them being here was going to complicate everything for a while. By their expressions you can tell they were surely wondering why Chloe was moving in. They'd be even more curious about why Peg was as well once they found out. This was a wonderful surprise visit but it really was going to be a problem to work around.

Your mother grimaces. "Well...she's not in there yet. I'm sure she wouldn't mind waiting for a bit." She looks at her folks. "How long are you staying anyways?"

They shrug. "I dunno, a week or two. Could be more. We're not sure if we'll stay here the whole time." Grandma says.

Your grandpa makes his way to the door. You stand up and follow. "I'll help you carry those in." You offer with a smile.

He looks at you and nods. "Sure Jesse, thanks." He puts his arm around your shoulder and the pair of you make your way out to the car.
