Grok

In a cave in the wastes of rocky badlands a hundred kilometers away from any civilization a middle aged woman dressed in dark robes chants a strange tongue and a bloody wound upon her hand grasp an enchanted dagger as she carves runes into the stone floor. The room smells of oil smoke from burning torches and decaying parchment of old books and scrolls. The runes glow a crimson light a deep breath of wind flicks the torches and with a glow the ground opens and a large hand grasps forth from the rift. Scaled dark green, black claws scrape the rock and a large twisted form crawls forth. When the last tip of the creatures tail escapes the portal the light fades and earth returns to normal, The woman silently gasps at the form more than twice her size laying upon the ground.

The creatures muscles flex and a deep gasp of air fills its lungs

Grok stretches out once more again the similar feeling of cold nothingness but this time a warmth slowly fills his chest and a beating in his ears. He bellows "Damn Goddesses!" as his eyes scan the room, his body feels heavy as he begins to rise, he sees a figure retreat back with a bloody dagger pointing at him. Grok holds out his palms open in a gesture of ease as he rises "Hold on there" he says, his voice sounding nothing like his old one and his hands clawed and scaled nothing like he remembers and he mumbles "Damn Goddesses."

The woman dwarfed by Grok speaks "What are you monster!?"

Grok "Not sure myself yet?", he looks down at the robbed woman almost like looking at a child in comparison to his old life

She waves the dagger point at him, " You do not know who you are?"

"No I know who I am, not what I am."

Confused the woman relaxes a little "Is that a joke" she lets out an exasperated sigh

Grok backs away and looks around, not much here he thinks, he looks at himself, His body is humanoid at least, covered in dark green scales he has other feelings, strange sensations of limbs he never has had before, he glances at the woman who stares at him still frightened but more confused at him.

"What are you doing?" she huffs

"I am looking at myself, new body and all."

"You are not what I expected,"

After a few minutes of testing his new body, he realizes he is naked he looks around and sees a pallet of straw and an old blanket ontop of it and wraps his lower half in it, which is a bit of a annoyance with his new appendages

The woman drops the dagger at this and lets out a laugh "What a strange creature."

"Its been a strange day" Grok replies, and he sits on the pile of straw

The woman pulls out a small glass vial of crimson liquid, and downs it the wound oh her hand quickly heals. She retrives the dagger and pockets it.

After a few minutes of an awkward silence, the woman asks "What is your name creature?"

He tries to remember his name, his past life knew the sound but when he spoke all that came for was a croak of "Grok"

"Grok?" the robbed female repeated, and in that moment some strange magic washed over Grok, just a whisper he heard to himself the sound of the giggling goddess "Now, Now cannot go around using your old name..."

seething he whispers "Damn Goddesses" once more

" I am Ryena. Which Goddesses do you speak of Grok? "

" Melanoche and Carnachias, the dark sisters"

"Well, at least that part of the ritual was correct, It was suppose to summon a drakling, a minion of the dark sisters, not what ever you are Grok."

She looks at Groks unusual form "I can see some draconic traits in you but your no drakling."

Ryena walks towards a small table piled with parchments and a singular dark leather book.
