Chapter 190

What's next?
Griffin and Rachel on the rocks
You’re seated at the lunch table with Lisa by your side. Rachel’s sitting across the table with a plate of untouched food. She’s busy glaring at Griffin. There’s only one open seat and it’s the one next to her.
“Gee wow thanks, bringing something that I’m allergic to right here to the table,” Rachel says. “How fuckin’ considerate.”
“Hey, it’s not every day that they serve fried shrimp. You’ve got to take your wins when you can. After all, you never know when your day might be ruined by your girlfriend cheating on you,” Griffin says, giving her the finger as he sits.
“Shut the fuck up, you’re the cheater, not me,” Rachel says indignantly. “Come on. Alex, Lisa, back me up here.”
You glance at Lisa. She glances at you. You sided with {if GrifRach == 2}Griffin{else}Rachel{endif} earlier, but this is one hot mess that you don’t want a part of anymore. {if GriffRach == 4} Even if Rachel was a great fuck. {endif}
“Calm down, you two. You haven’t even started eating yet,” you say.
{if GriffRach == 2} “Of course you’d say that,” Rachel says. {else} “What, you’re not going to defend me anymore?” Rachel says. {endif}
“Alex is right,” Lisa says. “Let’s erase the last thirty seconds. Start fresh. Griffin, how was class this morning?”
“Pretty good. It’s my blow-off class, which is always fun. We got to watch a movie about the Nepalese flag for homework last class,” he says, to appreciative nods around the table. “Plus, no cheating bitches in the classroom.”
“Griffin,” Lisa says, shades of Gina channeling through her voice, and the single word is enough to get him to shut up. He bites his tongue and grimaces.
“Okay,” he says. “It was a good class.” Then, affecting the most artificially sweet voice that he can, he turns to Rachel. “So, honey, how was your class this morning? Everything just as you liked it?”
“Meh,” Rachel says, making a face at Griffin. “The annoying kid spoke the whole time again. He got into a fight with the professor and thought he was being cool and edgy by talking about differences between men and women. The whole time I was thinking, you just need to get laid. Quite unlike another annoying guy I know. In fact, this other guy—”
“Rachel,” you say, but the effect of your voice isn’t quite the same.
“This other guy doesn’t really know how to keep his dick in his pants. You’d think it would be easy, with how small it is,” she says, glaring at Griffin.
“Yeah, and how do you know how big it is? Somebody’s been sleeping with half the campus,” he snorts.
“The two of you need to learn how to have a civil conversation,” Lisa interjects, before Rachel can fire off her next retort. “If you don’t have anything nice to say, just stay quiet.”
The two of them immediately fall silent. They pick at their food, shooting glares at each other. You and Lisa glance at each other again.
“Is this how mom and dad felt when we fought?” you laugh, noticing the faint ridiculousness of the situation.
“We were never this bad at the dinner table,” Lisa says. “In our own room, maybe, but never out there.”
“That’s because Gina would be there, too,” you say.
“What, were you scared of her?” she asks, ribbing you. “Big bad Gina, always oh-so-bitchy and scary.”
You snort, reaching over to muss her hair, and she laughs, trying to get out of your reach.
“Me? Scared of her? No way, she was just… intimidating.” {if Gina > 15} And hot, you finish in your head. {endif}
Rachel and Griffin both have a good laugh at that.
“You got that right,” Griffin says. “There’s nobody the frat bros fear more.”
“There’s nobody the sorority sisters get more envious about,” Rachel says.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah,” Lisa says, rolling her eyes.
You give your twin sister an affectionate pat on the shoulder.
“Don’t worry, I’m sure the sorority sisters envy you plenty too,” you say.
She gives you the more adorable glare and stabs at the shrimp on her plate.
“Alex is pretty popular with the sorority girls,” Rachel says, stifling a giggle. “He would know.”
“I couldn’t care less,” Lisa says, stabbing another shrimp, but you know the truth.
Lisa +10
