Greenvale village
Rain and I cleaned and got ourselves dressed to meet the others at the campfire. Semmy was no where to be seen, but Benton and Kellia were busy eating breakfast on a large overturned log, that acted as seating.
Semmy eventually joined us as we all ate together, albeit, she didn’t look Rain and I in the eye. I ate meat whilst the others ate oats and barely, I didn’t like the look of their meal.
“Right. My companions!” Sang Bentley in a too overfamiliar tone with everyone. “We will travel to the village of Greenvale. There we should find some work for adventurers such as ourselves.”
We followed his lead, dismantling our camp and making way a few miles east to Greenvale village. As we travelled, Rain and I conversed with each other, she even flirted with me a little too openly. Semmy on occasion would look behind at us and show a nervous looking face, I would look at Rain and we would laugh.
We arrived in the village and it looked busy, market stalls had been set up, some selling produce, and others selling trinkets. We decided to resupply for when we made camp tonight, and Kellia wanted to check out them he local blacksmith to see the wares of weapons and armour.
I, on the other hand, wanted to visit the tavern, get a drink, gamble with the patrons, and maybe soak up some information.
Rain and Semmy were going to do the shopping, and it would give Rain a chance to talk to Semmy about what she saw this morning. Benton was going with Kellia, and I made my way to the tavern.
I easily found the place I was looking for, people drinking on benches and tables erected outside at the front of the establishment. I got some funny looks as I walked up to the door, even more when I went inside and made it to the bar.
“An ale, if you please innkeep.” I said as I perched myself on a stool and caught the keep’s attention.
He looked me up and down but thought better to question why a strong looking kobold wanted to drink here.
“Do you have the coin?” He asked me.
“I do.” I told him, and slammed a sliver coin onto the bar.
“That’ll get you more than one.” He said.
“Then give me as many as a silver coin would get me.”
The barkeep nodded and poured me a cold ale, and I brought the tankard to my lips and drank heavily of its contents. I was able to drink my fill of ****, getting a nice buzz going, the ruckus of patrons became muffled around me.
“Hello there, Coal.” I came a voice, I felt a hand caress the back of my neck and I turned to see who it belonged to. It was Rain.
“Hey there.” I said to her, looking her up and down. Her curves tightly squeezed into her form fitting black dress.
She gave me a wicked smile, and ordered herself a drink.
“I spoke to Semmy about this morning.” Said Rain, sipping a fire whisky. “She’s still a little shook up at seeing us, but she’s not going to avoid us anymore. Even more, she seemed glad that I got to help you lose your virginity.”
“You told her that I was a virgin?” I said in a hushed whisper.
“Don’t fret. She said that everyone deserves to feel love with another. Even a kobold.”
So Rain told Semmy everything, about my previous status as a virgin, and she was happy at I lost it.
“Anyway. Did you get any information, or have you just been drinking this whole time.” Rain joked.
“Not really. I’m not very approachable.” I said.
Well, we ran into Benton and Kellia after our shopping trip. And it looks like he’s got a contract for us. Something about chasing down some demon worshipper. He’s supposed to be performing some ritual on the next full moon.”
“That’s a couple of days away.” I stroked my rough chin. “What’s the pay?”
“Pretty good, apparently. Might be a very small pile of gold for each of us. It’s small, but it’s gold.”
“I prefer it big.” I shrugged and shook my head.
“So do I.” Rain said, her eyes momentarily staring at my crotch. She slugged back the whisky and leaned on the bar. “I think we should have some fun tonight, let’s round up the others and enjoy ourselves.”
“Sure.” I hit the tankard back, guzzling the remainder of the ale. “Let’s do it.”
