James opened the door to see a man in a brown uniform with a hand truck stacked with four large boxes.
"Delivery for a mister...James Stewart?"
James eyed the boxes curiously. "That's me. Who from?"
"That would be Futech Innovators LLC.", he said checking one of the boxes. He brought up a clipboard from the back of the hand truck. "Just need a signature here."
James squinted for a moment. That's his work. Did Lee already approve and send the supplies over? He really meant what he'd said before. James shrugged and signed the paperwork, unloading the boxes into the main living area. When it was safe, he brought Aurora out from under the bed.
Sally had already been holding a large bottle of liquid Adenosine when they came back out. She saw James's face and responded with a shrug. "I got curious."
Aurora turned a bright, glowing green when she saw the chemical chain printed on the label, quickly snatching it with a smile. "Heeere!"
Sally looked up at her curiously. "Yeah but...what is it?"
James set about opening the other boxes. None of them were the actual things on her schematic, but everything to build each part was laid out.
Stainless steel sheets, sterile tubing, suction cups, a bunch of different chemicals, needles, wiring, magnets, circuit boards, capacitors, resistors...and a dozen other things all cleanly packaged in antistatic bags.
He huffed. "Don't suppose we'd be allowed to use the tools in the development lab..."
Sally echoed her question, mildly irate. "What is it though?"
James shrugged. "No idea. She was insistent about a design she made but I can't figure it all out. There's a helmet involved, and that stuff is the chemical responsible for how fast we learn. Otherwise, I don't know. I'd bet it's some kind of learning machine."
Aurora had already set about grabbing boxes and moving them into the empty room. When they were all inside, she closed the door. James and Sally glanced at each other. "Guess she's excited to get to it..."
Aurora came back out soon after, stopping right in front of James. "Nehd...this.", she began miming the use of different things.
James puckered his lips, pulling her to the garage and opening his tool chest. She glanced inside, and took the entire chest back to the room.
