Gotta Look Good

You lean back on the palms of your hands as you continue to watch the two girls fight over and over again. You share your input and help them out as needed but for the most part you enjoy the sight before you as you watch their hands as they slash their blades, study their feet as they pivot in their step and study their breaths as they gulp in oxygen with every heavy blow.

You can't recall how long you sat around and watched Leandra and Zoe do battle but it definitely got your mind off other things that you should be worrying about. It was a nice change of pace to not be thinking about the upcoming war or about how you're leaving many friends here in the Syndicate and last but not least, it's helping take your mind off the chance you could not return.

You weren't sure what you were going to do tonight as it could be your last time ever in the Syndicate. You were planning to spend the night with Lexie but how that happened and what the two of you would do beforehand, you weren't sure. Your mind now bounced between the two women you were watching battle and of what you could do to hopefully surprise Lexie and have a great time with her. You zoned out for an unknown amount of time before a noise from your left causes you to recollect your barrings.

"There he is!" a hearty yet boisterous voice shouts out, "Figured we'd find you here, Darien" Sylvius breaks you from your daydream as you turn your head and look at him, "Come on, we gotta get you outta here, changed up and looking good for the final night!"

"Darien always looks good!" Felix replies with a grin as he reaches his arm down to help you up. He eventually looks at Leandra and Zoe who are now standing in place and looking at the two top heavy warriors, "How's the training going little Zosters?!" he asks, giving the black haired girl a giant smile.

"G-G-Great!!" she exclaims as she holds her two daggers at her side, "We are training! Darien is helping, we're having fun, it's an amazing day! I was super tired but now I'm super awake!" she shoots out before she catches her breath, "This is Leandra, she's fun, she's cool, have you met her?" she hops in her step, "Leandra is a lot of fun! Pretty good too! A lot of fun to train with!" she beams a smile at the girl. "We've been going at it for a long time now!"

"Well, I'm not as good as you," the platinum blonde haired girl gives Zoe a toothy smile, "Thanks for taking the time to train with me and thank you Darien for helping!" she replies as she turns her head towards you.

You're in the process of standing up with the help of Felix's grasp. He basically pulls you up from the ground and keeps pulling forward, bringing your body into his own while giving you a hug, "Good to see you buddy!" you throw your other arm around his back to return the embrace, "And you're welcome Leandra, as I said, anytime! I'd love to continue to work with you and Zoe."

"Of course you would!" Zoe teases back, "You won't stop until you get into one of our pants!"

"If this is what it takes, then I'll continue to do it!" you throw a wink back at her.

"Well, thank you Zoe." Leandra steps in to give the girl a hug, "Thank you for letting me train with you, I appreciate it." she grips her forearm and looks into her volcanic ashen eyes.

"Just because Darien is done with us doesn't mean our night has to be over!" she smiles back at Lea, "Come on! Have you met Ashe? Or Lexie? Or Karisi? I can show you them, they are awesome! The best!" she's slightly shaking the girl as she holds onto her forearms, "Well, Karisi can be a little over the top and rude sometimes but you'll grow to love her!" she grins, "Oh! And that's Sylvius and Felix right there!" she points her index finger at the two guys. "They are like, Darien's best friends! They are like the three best guys in the Syndicate!" Zoe ponders, "Well, okay, Sylvius and Felix are the best, Darien is just a dumb dumb sometimes." her head shoots your direction and her tongue pokes out. "But anyway!!!" Zoe grips Lea's wrist and pulls her along, making their way towards the mountain, "Let's go, let's go!" she sings. "Catch you later!!!" she yells over her shoulder to the three men as her and Leandra march off in the distance.

"Love that girl." Sylvius replies as the three of you watch your angel and demon disappear back into the mountain, "So much spunk and energy. And that blonde again, Darien?" he grins, "Get in her pants yet?"

You exhale hard, "Ya know, just because I"m hanging out with a women doesn't mean I"m always trying to get into their pants."

"It doesn't?" Felix shrugs before giving your arm a playful slug.

"Oh screw off." you groan out, "But what did you guys want and why did you say that I need to get changed and look good?"

Without even a seconds notice, "Darien, now you know I always think you look good, but come on, it's the last night before you leave for war, don't you want to get out of these..." Felix steps back and looks over your body while he pretends to act appalled. You glance down and look over your scrappy leather outfit that has rips, tears and is covered in a layer of dirt and grime, "Dress up for once, enjoy the night and have some fun!"

"Yeah Darien," Sylvius replies, "Dressing up for once feels good. It'll get all the right juices flowing with the ladies and even the gentlemen," he smirks, "Come on, let's head to your chambers and get you changed." he motions with his hand, asking you to follow him.

"Guys, I can dress myself..." you grumble out. The men weren't having that as an answer though as just what Zoe did with Leandra, Felix is grabbing your wrist and pulling you towards the mountain, "Plus maybe I wasn't done training!"

"You've been out here all day so far, give it a break, enjoy something else! Let's get you changed, go to the Spirits and grab some food and drink and just see where the night takes us." his voice sounds like it has a hint of mystery to it.

"Why does it sound like you're hiding something from me?" you question.

"Oh come on now, we wouldn't do that to you, would we Darien?" Felix turns his head and bats his eyes at you, trying to look all innocent.

"Ya know, the last few times I allow you guys to give me a night to remember, I end up forgetting those nights, end up waking up the next morning, completely oblivious to what happened and generally I either made a giant mistake or screwed something up." you say causing both the warriors to laugh as you recall the two alcohol infused nights with these boys, both of which you can't remember anything that happened.

"But!" Sylvius exclaims, "Those are two nights you will always remember, even if you don't actually remember them." he chuckles, "And you wouldn't have it any other way!"

"Plus a drunk Darien is an enjoyable Darien." Felix gives you a more than friendly wink which only causes you to gulp down, "Calm down though Darien, we don't have to get you completely intoxicated, just a drink or two."

"After we get you looking good!" Sylvius interrupts, "Truly make it a night to remember!"

"I suppose I could change into something a little nicer..." you groan out, pretending to be annoyed, "And I suppose I can be done with my training for my last night here before war!" you grin, "But just a drink or two, no more!"

"We'll see where the night leads us." Felix smiles as he pulls you along, "One drink, two drink, three drink more?" he chuckles.

"Atta boy!" Sylvius slugs your arm before he rests his hand on your shoulder, "Gotta make you look real good, have all these Sunriders just dying to get into your pants the night before war! Tease all them chicks, that's the best part!"

"I mean, that does sound kinda fun..." you ponder off. It would be nice to change into something a little nicer, maybe that would even surprise Lexie a little bit when you see her later tonight. "Ya know, let's do it, let's get me looking good!"

There was no point arguing with these two because when they get their mind set on something they could generally keep bugging you over and over again. Plus, they've always helped you with so many things since you got here in the Syndicate and what Zoe said is true, these two warriors have always had your back and have always done whatever you asked of them. They are two truly great friends of yours, two truly great warriors who will be marching south with you tomorrow and hopefully two truly great warriors who will make it out of this war alive...
