Chapter 166 by Roar of The Winning Punch Roar of The Winning Punch

What's next?

Good End

Elizabeth licked her lips the gluttony in her lusting for all the calories in that impossible fruit. Her heart pounded and she gave a sad smile to her husband. Everyone’s else’s love story seemed so epic, and there’s was just a whisper. So unfair.

“I wish that someone had loved Satan from the very start. Maybe that could have done someone some good.”

The words left her mouth, and a blinding light enveloped everything, and then it was oppressive darkness. Absolute in its composition. There was not even the hope that something would come along to night it.

Elizabeth was terrified to be in this nothingness. There was no sound, no smell, she would have forgotten her body were she not inside of it. This place was nothing, nothing and nowhere.

Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was.

Elizabeth gasped and looked upon the light, and saw that it was good. So good. A part of her recoiled from the purity of that light, and she knew that her other half had been returned to her.

As she marveled at the light she noticed that she was not alone in the darkness. Not at all. She floated amongst legions of things… more bizarre and wonderful than what Cleopatra witnessed in the other world. There were four headed lions, and burning wheels, and things that were just geometry, and surprisingly enough at the center of these things something familiar.

A dark hair man with six wings. Wings that were black but as the light burst seemed to be bleached white. The wings of Lucifer, first thing light ever touched.

Elizabeth drew closer to the dark haired being. She felt like a mouse much ignored by the beings focused on the light. It was funny to her how different he looked out of his suit, much more regal, and with long hair too, so dashing. His face, so bright, so amused, it boggled the mind to think one day he would bear witness to the entire rotten history of mankind and cackle at his good works.

A time came when the light faded. From supernova to Sun. It hung there like a lamp, not quite separate from the darkness, not yet.

Lucifer grinned and turned to Elizabeth sweeping her up in a hug, and flying her about. “We did it God! We did it! Isn’t glorious?”

“Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!” Elizabeth screamed as she was tossed about the known universe. “I’m not Goooooooooooooooooooood!”

“Really?” Lucifer came up short. The stop from light speed should have sent Elizabeth’s destroyed atoms careening through the galaxy, but physics hadn’t been fully worked out at this point. “You look just like him.”

Elizabeth shook the cuckoo birds from her head. “Yeah I get that a lot.”

“Then who are you?” The Angel looked at her curiously with those magnificent rainbow eyes.

“Elizabeth Bathory, charmed to meet you…”

“Lucifer!” He let go of her, realizing just now that he was still holding her. “Nice to meet you too Elizabeth.” They floated ackwardly for a moment, and he drifted away. “forgive me for grabbing you like that, but I gotta go. I need to seperate the light from the darkness.”

Elizabeth had a curious feeling take her over. As if everything in her life had been a part of this metaphor. “Wait!” She grabbed his hand. “Don’t do it!”

“What? Why not?” The turned towards her. It was so disarming to see him so open and ****.

“Because.” She gulped. “If you seperate the two, and call one half good… that makes the other half evil… doesn’t it?”

He shrugged. Even before the dawn of time, people shrugged. Not even people, things! Concepts shrugged, what the hell? “Not necessarily it just makes one half good and the other… undefined.”

“It’ll define itself by its other half, if it’s not good, then it’s evil, you’ll be creating evil! And it’ll demand a god to rule it.” Elizabeth grinned, she could feel things getting blurry, her other half fancied herself the right god for that job.

Lucifer floated around her, not necessarily weary, but definitely confused. “But the light wasn’t here to start… isn’t it wrong to have it here now… to change the darkness in such a way?”

Elizabeth smiled. “Things change, that’s okay. This is what the universe is now, darkness with a heart of light.”

“Seems wrong.”

“Only because no one has tried it before!”

Lucifer sighed and looked about. “I’ll have to take it up with the big guy.” He rubbed the back of his head. “He’s not going to like this…” Lucifer zoomed off, leaving Elizabeth alone.

“Damn.” Elizabeth uttered the first curse. “I was supposed love on him… not making much good of my wish…” she swished about in the star stuff, feeling like it was going to be a long wait before the others caught up with her.

She looked at the light, she existed in a time long before senses now, but she could tell it was different in this moment than it had been in her own. There was no source, and no shadow cast, it just existed as a part of the whole. She could look at it, and not squint through it was many times brighter than the sun.

It was a curious thing, but it was there.

Further more she noticed as time went on she and the others began to orient themselves to the spot. They had been flying at weird angles, upside down, and backwards. Now everyone was facing a wordlessly agreed upon upright, and seemed to be roatating in a way around the object.

Elizabeth felt her other half move to the forefront of her mind, and instead of fighting her off she turned her attention to her inner world.

“Sleep sister, sleep.” Her other half said with an evil smile, you’ve done well getting us here. The start of everything, a brand new universe to create in our image!”

How Elizabeth would loathe that world.

And then in that flash of hatred it all fell into place for her. Her life wasn’t a metaphor… the universe was. That flash of rage and disgust melted into perfect tranquility.

“You’re just trying to do what you thinks best for us…”

Elizabeth nodded. “Of course, it’s always been so. Had I won, I would have taken care of you, that nonsense with Zheng was just a ploy…”

“Thank you for protecting me all this time.”

Her other half moved closer, Elizabeth hadn’t realized she’d been ready to attack until her muscles relaxed. “Of course, we’re partners.”

“You became the things they said about us… because that was easier for me than, coming to terms with what really happened.”

Her other half paused in her approach, confusion now marring her joy. “No, I’m your evil half. I did all of those things, because you were too weak to gove into the pleasure.”

Elizabeth shook her head, she’d never felt in control of this part of her, but now she was. “No…I was too weak to accept that it wasn’t true. To accept that those men would make up such vicious lies about me, lock me in the walls of my own castle, drive me crazy… so you saved me. If you did the things they said you did, then they were just and I was innocent… you did that for me.”

The pause continued, Elizabeth tensed her fingers anxiously. Anxiety from THAT creature. “So you’ll give me control?”

Elizabeth, side stepped the question. “We can co-front.”

Her other half rankled. “Like…. Share?”

“Yes.” Elizabeth smiled, though it was a stern thing. Unusual on her face, but not unpleasant. “Our old arrangement doesn’t work for me anymore.”

“I’m not going to let you take my life from me.” Her other half growled, rabid as a timber wolf.

“I’m not, I’m giving you mine. It’s our life…sister. You can stop protecting me, and start working with me.” She held her hand out.

Tentatively the beast met her outstretched hand. “I guess I could… try it out. I can always destroy you tomorrow.”

Elizabeth smiled. “Works for me, this is genisis, a lot can happen in a day.”

Elizabeth’s attention focused back in to her new born reality. She could feel her other half within her as well, sharing the space.

“That feels nice and full.” Elizabeth mused aloud, the prospect of this **** void somehow less daunting with her alter by her side.

“Just know I’ll never be satisfied with this arrangement if you don’t do something ambitious with the opportunity.” Her other half announced within the space of her mind. Elizabeth could feel the emotional bleed over of confidence and hunger that drove her other self.

“What’s more ambitious than wooing God’s favorite Angel?” Elizabeth asked, using her own bat like wings to navigate the universe.

“Are you sure we’re up to it? That damnedable wish didn’t have any affect on him. At least not in the regard of him loving us.”

“Of course not.” Elizabeth grinned internally at her head mate and went to meet her destiny. “It was just basic logic, not even a wish could get around it. Before anyone could love us, we had to love ourself.”

“How trite. I’d hate to think that was the lesson at the heart of our existence.”

“What would you have it be, sister?”

“Always wish for more wishes.”

The End!
