Good Company

You knew there was only a few hours until the sun started to rise, so you're goal was to eat a little bit, hydrate up, wash up just briefly in the river and then try to get some rest while it was still dark out.

Looking around at the group of friends around you, you figured it might be a little harder to do that then you originally planned. With Neira, Estra, Felix, Sylvius, Ashe and yourself all sitting around a tiny little fire, warming up some water with some herbal leafs in it to make a somewhat refreshing tea. You're all snacking on rice and beans, since not only do they last quite awhile but they will also be nutritious and will fill your bodies.

"It's not the greatest meal but it's filling!" the petite brunette with the huge chest begins "And it's nice to take a break...my legs are killing me."

"At least you had a Tiger to ride...I walked the entire way!" Felix jolts out.

"WE walked the entire way." Sylvius corrects his friend.

"I probably should have walked. Riding that long not only makes my thighs sore, but I swear my ass went numb half way through!" Estra laughs, causing both the top heavy warriors to laugh along with them.

"I'm sure one of these boys..." Neira pushes "Or girls wouldn't mind giving you a rub down to ease your muscles!" the taller blonde haired Sunrider mentions, immediately looking at you.

You just smirk at her, letting out a little puff of air, but not replying.

"Big papa Sylvius will give you a rub down anytime you need it love."

"Oo la la!" Estra chuckles back.

Everybody was just having so much fun. It was weird because you and your army were marching to war. Yet, if some outsider was listening in, they wouldn't have the slightest clue. These friends of yours were joking around, enjoying each others company and overall just having a great night. All the while, they know in about eight hours they continue to march south towards Murnic...only to take over that city.

"You feeling okay?" you hear a whisper from your left.

"Huh?" you turn towards Ashe "Yeah...yeah, I'm fine."

"You're quiet?"

"Yeah, just. Just thinking." you force a smile at your High Commander.

"Want to talk about it?"

"Ehh, not right now. Nothing important." you fake a smile at her.

She must have seen through your lie though as she shakes her head just slightly "Okay, fine."

In the background, Sylvius, Felix, Neira and Estra just continue their conversation between the four, eating their bread and beans while drinking their warm herbal tea.

As they continued to eat and drink, it seems the four friends were getting louder and louder as well as more eccentric. As you and Ashe didn't have any of the tea, you were wondering if something else was added to the drink. You had to keep your mind clear, so drinking it and getting under whatever spell they were all getting into, was off the table for you.

"I'm going to go wash up." you say as you stand up.

"Have some tea!" Felix replies "Tastes reaaaaaal good!" he exclaims.

"Yeah, Darien! Ahh, oohh..." she groans "Don't leave us!" she moans out as Sylvius is actually rubbing her calf muscles "Sylvius, you're hands...Mmmm" her body falls backwards onto her elbows.

"Wait some company?" Ashe asks, somewhat quietly again.

"It's okay Ashe." you grin her direction, looking down at her as she's still seated on the ground. "After I wash up I'll probably just go lay down."

"Yeah...I'm going to go do that now." She pushes her right hand backwards, pushing herself up to her feet. "I'm laying down guys. Enjoy the night!" she says aloud to the other four.

A collection of "Awes" and "Boos" were yelled out as the friends were sad that Ashe was leaving. But with another eye roll, Ashe turned around and made her way towards the Hammocks the two of you set up early.

With that, you just laugh at your friends as you walk down towards the river. It's only a good thirty feet away from where you set up your camp for the night, but it felt a ton more quiet as you reached it. The sound of the water slowly streaming down to the east. The clear night sky with the crescent moon still high into the sky. So peaceful.
