Going to the community pool

It was a hot summer and David was getting stir-crazy holing up in his air-conditioned home. He wanted to do something out of the house but it was too dang hot! Then he remembered his family had a pass to the community pool! Bingo!

David walked from his home in his red swim trunks, carrying his towel. It was a short walk to the pool and soon he'd be floating around in the cool water without a care in the world.

As he walked down his driveway a familiar face passed him right by. It was Laylah! She was dressed in a colorful beach robe and flip flops.

"Yo, Laylah!" he called out.

Laylah swung around and her face brightened with friendly recognition, "Oh! Hey dude! Looks like great minds think alike." She said, gesturing to his swim trunks.

"Yeah, I was goin' crazy staying in my house all day, figured the pool was a good way to cool off and cure my boredom at the same time."

"Same here. I'm so ready to hit the water, man." She said, excited for the day ahead.

The two walked and talked and eventually they reached the pool. It was crowded, but they managed to find two chairs in the far back corner and they claimed them promptly.

They sat down and looked at the pool for a moment before Laylah said, "we should get some slushies from the snack counter, that's be so dope on a day like today."

"Red or Blue?"

"Blue. Nose game!" Laylah said before quickly touching her nose.

"You rat." David grumbled as he got up and headed for the snack counter.
