Follow Zack and Heather? Or stay at the cabin?
Going into Town
Heather’s car sped along the main road into town, the dark-haired cheer captain looking cool with her sunglasses, shielding her eyes from the bright sun beating down upon the tarmac. The tress were lush and green, the sky clear and blue, picturesque scenery like that of a postcard, and yet it only reminded Heather of the last time she had driven into town. On that day, two days ago, she’d driven Kurt to an appointment at the clinic and on the way caught a glimpse of Madison Cole mounting her brother in the back seat of his car at the side of the road.
From that one event, Brandon and Madison had retreated into the forest, and she and Kurt had engaged in a little incestuous roleplay; a fantasy that had unlocked some very real and all consuming desires within her young body. She had begun to see her father as more than a parent, to see him as the man that he was. Handsome and shrewd, but loving and protective, reliable and strong, a broad, imposing physical specimen of a man, and like all men there were things that she could do for him. To show her love and affection and appreciation. Why did it matter that they were father and daughter? Why should she give herself to any other man if they could never love her, never connect with her like her daddy could?
She breathed out, low and long, pushing her desires back down. For one, it was uncomfortable to drive with her pussy soaking wet. Secondly though, she had to remember that she wasn’t going to visit her father for herself. Well, partly for herself, but it was also for Zack. There were questions that her dad needed to answer about whether he knew that he might be Zack’s father, and if so, had he abandoned the dark-haired boy beside her? Glancing over to the passenger seat, she saw Zack staring out at the passing scenery but it was clear by his distant gaze that he wasn’t really paying attention to the world around him.
“Are you thinking about what you’re going to say to your mum?” Heather asked, turning her eyes back to the road.
“No,” Zack sighed. “I think I was rather hard on Ashley over the whole Lisa thing.”
“Oh yeah, I caught the end of that discussion when I came to get you,” Heather admitted, flicking her dark hair behind her as she glanced between the road and Zack. “I wasn’t trying to listen but it did sound heated.”
“It’s just bullshit. There’s no way Lisa would have those **** on her and the only person with the motive to do anything to Lisa is Ashley,” Zack explained, still staring out the window. “I don’t want to believe it was Ashley, and I don’t even think she meant for Lisa to get arrested…but nothing else makes sense.”
“It’s hard to believe that Ashley would think this was a good idea though. I get that she can be a little devious at times, so can I, but when it comes to something criminal or illegal, I don’t think Ashley would cross that line,” Heather said matter of factly, speaking from her experience as Ashley’s captain and friend. “Besides, you’re too focused on motive when there’s also the matter of means. How would Ashley have gotten hold of those **** to plant them in the first place? She hasn’t left the cabin since we came here, so your theory requires her to have brought the **** with her before she even knew that she’d have to plant them on someone.”
“That means they’re either Lisa’s, which I can’t believe,” Zack surmised. “Or someone brought them to the cabin. But no one who came to the cabin recently would have any reason to plant them on Lisa.”
“My dad takes Vicodin for his knee,” Heather reminded him. “And your mum might carry a medical bag if she was doing a house call.”
“Maybe, but we’re still saying that someone stole those pills and planted them on Lisa,” Zack scratched the back of his head, irritated. “And if not Ashley then who and for what purpose?”
“I…I don’t know,” Heather frowned and pursed her lips, feeling that no matter how she looked at the issue it didn’t make sense. “The only way this works is if the people that we know aren’t who we thought they were.”
Zack scoffed. “The way my life has been lately, that’s not such a hard thing to imagine.”
“So, your mum had her own life before you. I think it’s normal for most parents to keep parts of themselves from their children. My dad is the exception, not the rule, and I think most parents feel a need to create an air of distance between their actions and their children’s so they can adequately parent. It’s difficult to teach your children responsibility and hold them to account if you’re also telling them about your infidelity and philandering,” Heather tried to put his problems into perspective. “I mean, would it really be so bad if my dad was your dad?”
“Not bad, but…it’s strange. I’ve grown up my whole life believing my dad was my biological dad and now he might not be. It’s like if you spent your whole life thinking that the big bright thing in the sky was the sun, only for someone to tell you it’s just a lamp and the whole world that you knew isn’t real,” Zack said, trying to relate the deep, complex upheaval that was going on in his mind. “But, no, I don’t think your dad is that bad. I mean, he was always honest with you and you turned out to be pretty level headed and not messed up.”
“Ha, I might surprise you…” Heather chuckled nervously, thinking about how she kinda sorta wanted to fuck her own father and how she was most definitely, certainly messed up. “Though, I really want to watch the Truman Show now, but that probably wasn’t what you were going for.”
“No, but at this point, if someone told me my life was all one big tv show designed for drama and ratings, it’d make a whole lot of sense,” Zack said, laughing along.
Heather continued on, the trees and fields giving way to houses, spotted here and there at first. Then, more and more buildings took over their surroundings, the greens and blues and vibrancy of the country giving way to the reds and greys and blacks of the town. Where there had once been clear roads there were other drivers and pedestrians crossing anywhere but where it was clearly marked to do so. She drove through the streets, passing by storefronts and coffee shops, looking out her window at the new scenery, at what looked like a completely different world from the cabin they drove from.
Pulling in by the clinic, Heather turned to Zack and said, “I’ll be back when I’m done. Good luck.”
“Thanks,” Zack replied, slipping out of the passenger and standing up straight, stiff from having been sitting for a long time. “You too.”
Heather smiled as Zack closed the car door. As he set off towards the clinic, Heather indicated and moved off from the parked position, heading now towards her father’s main offices in town. Alone now, and driving to her father’s place of work, knowing that she would see him there, Heather felt a flutter of anticipation in her stomach. Her throat began dry. She had no idea what she would say to him or even how to begin. Should she talk about the situation with Zack first, or her own feelings?
Driving through into the office parking lot, the dark-haired girl found a space. Before she left, she looked in the mirror, wiping her face and fixing her hair, blinking and popping her lips to make them red and kissable, making herself presentable to her father. Sliding out of the car, she made her way across the yard to the offices, pulling open the large glass doors into the reception area. She passed by the desk and head straight to the elevator, hips swaying beneath her trousers as she walked.
When the lift arrived, it was thankfully empty and no one got on along with her. Not that she didn’t appreciate the glances and looks of the men and women around her, watching her. It made her feel confident and sexy to know that she could command attention in any room she walked into, to know that they found her attractive and fuckable. But she took this moment to close her eyes and breathe, her breasts heaving upwards as her chest rose.
The doors opened on the 68th floor and Heather opened her eyes, looking down the corridor towards her father’s office. She sashayed down along the wide hall, the painted red walls adorned with pictures of her father’s successes and famous people he’d met. She walked along the purple carpet that sat upon a shiny, marble floor, feeling as if she were on her way to be presented before a king or emperor. At the end of the hall way was a large door, and beside it a small desk of wood and glass, modern and empty.
Heather looked around and bit her lip. She seemed to be alone, and yet, if she listened, she was sure she could hear voices coming from inside his office. Usually his secretary would buzz to let him know if someone was there to see him, but perhaps he was in a meeting and she had taken a break. She could just walk in, but he might be upset if he was busy with something important. But, with no secretary her only other option was to knock.
Knock? Or should Heather just go inside?
