Going Swimming

Zelda's train of thought crashed to a halt, and in a daze, she blurted out the last thing she was thinking about. The very thing she wanted to avoid.

"No, I'm fine! Come on, let's go swimming!"

Link, taken off guard by her overly enthusiastic answer, only nodded. Ever the chivalrous warrior, Link then did exactly what Zelda was dreading and gestured to the lake in a manner that clearly conveyed the idea of "ladies first." It was such a gentlemanly move that Zelda couldn't help but be flattered, even though it was exactly what she didn't want.

Zelda hesitated. On the one hand, Link clearly had no intention of getting in until she did, which squashed her hopes of staying behind him, but on the other hand, once she did get in to the water, retaining her modesty would become almost impossible unless she remained at precisely the right angle from Link. The only other thing Zelda could think to do was prove she wasn't a lady, and thus shouldn't go first. Which wasn't really a plan as much as a string of words with little to no meaning.

She had to do something quick, or Link would get suspicious.
