What does Joana do next?

Goes to her car and takes stock of what's happened so far

Joana’s heels clicked against the pavement as she made her way to the parking lot, each step a reminder of the power she now wielded over this reality. She glanced around, taking in the quiet hum of the university’s outskirts, the way the early afternoon light bounced off the glass buildings. Her hips swayed with every step, a new rhythm to her gait, one she wasn’t yet fully accustomed to but thoroughly enjoying.

Her fingers brushed against the strap of her bag as she approached her car, a sleek black sedan that felt like a relic from her old life. With a flick of the wrist, she unlocked it and slid into the driver’s seat, the leather creaking beneath her. As she settled in, her fingers instinctively reached for the rearview mirror, adjusting it to get a better look at herself.

The woman staring back at her was nothing short of striking. The longer she looked, the more her features settled into something almost unreal, like a dream that had been realized. Her auburn hair cascaded in gentle waves over her shoulders, her green eyes sparkling with a mixture of excitement and disbelief. There was something in the way she held herself, as if she had always been this person, always been her: Dr. Joana Kekyll.

She reached up and traced the outline of her face, feeling the smoothness of her skin, the softness of her lips. Her body, curves where there had once been only angles, felt like an entirely different entity. The weight of her chest, the fullness of her hips, the way her clothes clung to her figure - all of it was so new, so thrilling.

But her mind couldn’t help but race back to the data she had gathered so far. Reality had shifted, and with it, the world around her had adapted. People recognized her, called her by name, and treated her exactly as she had been in the lab. Joana, respected, capable, and, if her interaction with Carol was any indication, was a **** to be reckoned with. The receptionist had even made a point of saying she was "radiating confidence." That was certainly a new one. Before, Jon Kekyll was a public appearance away from being remembered he was there, let alone confident.

Her heart skipped a beat as she thought back to the way Carol had lingered, the way she had eyed her body a little too long. It wasn’t just professional respect she was getting. There was something else in the air - desire, perhaps. Joana couldn’t help but feel a surge of satisfaction. This new form was undeniably alluring, and it was working.

But there was more to consider than just her physical transformation. Joana’s mind was already mapping out the next steps.

Her gaze shifted from the rearview mirror to the car’s dashboard, and she exhaled, steadying herself. The world had shifted around her, but it was clear she hadn’t just altered her body. So far, she had changed everything in her reality. Her memories were still adjusting, sort of layering themselves over her old ones without displacing them. The fact that she had departmental leave - something she didn't recall in her old life - was only the first of many surprises. Had she truly been out for a month? What had she done during that time? And where had her old life gone? The more she thought about it, the less certain she was about how much had been overwritten. Was she now a different person entirely? Or had she simply stepped into the life of a woman who had always existed?

The questions swirled, but there was one thing she was certain of: she needed answers, and she needed to see what else had changed.

Joana smiled, the excitement surging within her once again.

What does Joana decide to do?
