"Why not?" you say with a smile. "It's impolite to disappoint a lady." The two of you leave the cottage and stroll in that direction. You want to ask him what he talked about with Holly Piper after you left, but decide to wait and see if he brings it up. When he does not, you finally speak.

"Pretty girl, that reporter," you say with a wink. "You date her up?"

He flushes slightly and chuckles. "Not really. I got her to say we'd meet for coffee later this week, but that's about all. She's pretty focused on her job."

"Did you tell her much?"

"What's to tell? She knows way more than I do about this place. Kinda weird some of it. What do you think?"

"I think I have enough to worry about without helping a reporter do her job. I'm just glad to be teaching again." You point towards the soccer field where a group of girls are gathered around Alice Wilder. "There they are."
