Go
Ethan decides to go home.
Before he leaves, Layla lends him a baggy raincoat, pulling it from her hall closet. "It won't keep you completely dry but..." she shrugs, "Sorry I don't have anything else."
"It's perfect," Ethan slips into the coat, noting it's oddly spacious in the chest, "Thank you."
Layla smiles, her eyes only betraying a tiny hint of sadness. "You're welcome, Ethan. Walk safe."
With a goodbye and a wave, Ethan sets out, braving the storm. The walk is quick but intense, the rain battering him. By the time he makes it home, his shoes and socks are soaked, although the coat did its job fairly well. Striping down, Ethan dries off for the second time today, not sure what to do with himself now, other than prepare for bed.
