Chapter 968 by Fiftyfiftyfifty Fiftyfiftyfifty

What do you do?

Go with Niki.

Those three girls think alike. All have continued to dress in their fancy new outfits, the first in Luna's brand new fashion line, perhaps because they look so fresh, but perhaps also because they know it serves as a connection to where you're from in a sense. Either way, Niki is the same, and so she's still wearing her wide-open zip-up hoodie over a crop-top blazoned with the letters, "WARRIOR," though the word is distorted by the ample curve of her bust, and her jeans still rest low on her hips. Much to your surprise, she's still wearing her piercings as well--gold and red rings from her ears and one from her belly button--though her hair is back to its old messy self.

Eva has departed, leaving the two of you alone in the courtyard.

There's a awkward silence. Niki seemed to confident moments ago, as she usually does, but now reality has hit her quickly. She rests her hands in the pockets of her sweater and looks around at everything that isn't you as colour very slowly starts to glow in her cheeks. "Uhm," she mutters. Now that she's began speaking, there's no turning back now. "I don't know... what people do on dates."

If you didn't know her so closely as you do, it'd be easy to find her intimidating at first, with her might, a tomboyish appearance, and of course she's always so forward and ready to fight, yet she's so quick to becoming flustered due to having so little talent in the ways of romance, or expressing any intimate feelings. Her exterior is as hard as the strongest steel, yet surprisingly thin, and beneath it is one of the softest girls around. It's her charm. You can't help but look her over, staring into her ruby eyes. There's no doubting she has a smoking hot bod, especially now with the perfect contrast of gold against her dark coloured skin, and seeing her dressed in a manner so much like you'd see an ordinary human back on Earth is very alluring.

"Well, we can do anything you'd like, but if you can't think of something, I can choose for us," you say.

"So it'll be just us for a bit, huh?" she clarifies, hands still in her hoodie. Her eyes glance around for another lengthy moment before she mumbles, "Damn. I'm not good at this, Kyle. I'm sorry."

You reach out and take a firm grasp of her hand, catching her by surprise with a soft gasp in response. "Why don't we head to the roof of the castle and just enjoy the sunshine?"

"Y-Yeah! That sounds really nice," she says with a smile.

So the two of you, hand-in-hand, walk through the winding streets and towards the castle's front doors. Other residents mind their own business as you go, though the odd one gives you a happy wave in greeting. Laira is working her ****, Bek the dwarf and the goblin Mipa are training with some straw practice dummies, Jelly is wandering around curiously alongside Nyllia. Anyway, after entering the castle, you turn left and make your way up the flight of stairs that leads to the upper floor.

You hasn't thought about it much before, but the décor could definitely use some work. The walls are bare, and there could be some accents to the hall, like end tables and plants. You make a note of that for another time.

As the two of you climb the stairs, she glances over to you with a smile.

"What was that look?" you ask with a chuckle.

"Nothing," she replies as you both begin up an additional flight of stairs, this time leading all the way to the roof.

A doorway opens to the light of the sun. Flat bricks spread out into a quiet and roomy spot protected by railings of stone. You've hardly been up here, mostly because there's nothing to see, yet it does serve as a place of relaxation. Not to mention that it oversees the entire land and even over the tops of the outer walls.

"It's beautiful up here," you say.

"Yeah," she says with her hands on her hips. She takes a deep inhale through her nose and sighs.

"Just like you."

Catching her by surprise, she chokes slightly. Then she purses her lips with colour across her face. "Stop that," she says, clearly not wanting you to stop that.

What do you do?
