Chapter 9 by pt3579 pt3579

A race.

Go to central hospital

"She's going to central hospital! To contaminate the blood bank!" You yelled aloud in panic, knowing that Fran's also there, "I'm going after her!"

"You can take my car..." Melissa threw the keys to you. Her face were paler than before and her breaths were heavier.

"I can't come with you if I'm going to perform the ritual. It's impossible for you, or either of us, to defeat the master vampire alone." Brandon accepted a bottle of water from Leona, and looked at you, waiting for your decision.

"You stay here and cure Melissa." You didn't even blink before you replied, "I'll do what I can to buy you the time."

"I'll get there as soon as possible when I'm done here." Brandon nodded with respect, "Godspeed, James."

"See you there." You glanced one last time at Melissa, reassured her with a confident smile, and ran out the bar.

You quickly started the engine of the police car and streaked down the road. Central hospital was not far from here and you estimated that you could arrive in 20 minutes on full speed, faster than how Jack's been driving in your vision. I have to get there in time. I have to... You gritted your teeth while holding the wheel tightly.

At around 6:40 you parked the car outside central hospital, just behind another police car. It's Jack's. Not many people were out in a cold, winter night like this, so a civilian like you getting off a police car didn't attract anyone's attention.

You ran up to the police car ahead of you and found Jack lying still in the driver seat. His dilated eyes rolled back, his mouth hung opened, and he has stopped breathing. The two bloodless puncture wounds on his inner thigh revealed the fate of this brave police officer. Olivia didn't waste a single drop. You closed his eyes with respect, knowing that you could never repay the debt you owed him.

You rushed in the hall of the hospital. There weren't many people around here, but weirdly you noticed that some of them were absent-minded. They were looking to a direction but they weren't looking at anything. You knew this expression. They were all hypnotized by Olivia to ignore her existence, so that she could go wherever she desired, do whatever she liked. They seemed to be ignoring you, too. That's weird, you thought.

You quickly found the guidance and learned about that the blood blank was on the B2 level. That's where Olivia would go, and you needed to stop her before she contaminated the stored blood. You were also concerned about Fran's safety. From your vision you knew that she was in room 408.

If Olivia had gone to the blood bank and you went to check on Fran, you would be too late to stop her from contaminating the blood supply. If Olivia had gone upstairs and you went to the blood bank, you would be too late to save Fran.

It all depended on where Olivia would go first.

You didn't have much time to waste. You had to make a choice.

Decide where you go.
