Go through the mist
Holding the gem you took from Loraine's study, you pass through the mist and find yourself a the top of a large, circular balcony. There was a floor above you that you could not reach, and a floor beneath you, accessible by a curved set of stairs that descended into the large mansion foyer. The sounds of passionate lovemaking intensified as you approached.
