Go the other way

After what had happened the last time she followed the dark pet, Leanne decided to avoid it on this occasion. If it really did want her to follow it then she was sure it couldn't end well for her. And if it didn't want her to follow, then she was starting to go crazy and needed to go somewhere else before she completely lost her mind.

Leanne headed along the corridor until she came to a corner. She was about to continue when a red light caught her attention. Looking up she saw a security camera in the ceiling. She could see the lens aimed directly at her. The red light blinking away as it recorded her image. It seemed strange to pay much attention to it, but then she realised another was pointing at her too. Further down the hallway there was a third aimed in her direction.

"Maybe they're motion sensitive," she wondered aloud.

Leanne stepped forward. Watching the nearest camera closely as she moved. However, before she could investigate further, she was interrupted by a loud shriek coming from a nearby room.

Forgetting her fear, Leanne moved into action. Grabbing the handle of the door where the scream had come from and stepping inside. As she stood there in the doorway, she was stunned by what she saw. One of the residents was laid out on the floor while in the open window stood the crouched figure of a hideous demonic creature. A vicious evil snarl on its face.

The thing was a dull red colour all over. With small wings on its back and sharp horned protruding from its skull. Despite its squat position Leanne imagined it was shorter than her, no more than a metre and a half. Its hands and feet ended in spiky claws and there was a row of jagged teeth visible in its mouth as it grinned menacingly at her.

Before Leanne could react the creature leapt from the window. Disappearing from view. The young woman was left in stunned silence. Not even sure if what she'd just seen was real.
