Go shopping and buy herself some gifts

She didn't need anyone else to remember her birthday. She remembered her birthday, and she could buy her own gifts. And she ignored that slightly hollow feeling in her stomach as she thought that. She was okay with it. Really.

Jenna got ready for the day and went to school, waiting patiently for the final bell that signaled when she could leave and enjoy life on her own terms. Classes went by normally - she enjoyed school for what it was and did well there, so it wasn't much of a bother even though she was excited to actually get out and go enjoy her own plans.

When she got out, she headed to the mall close to her house. Jenna knew she could just order it all online, but she wanted to get out of the house and actually go look at things, shop around and see what suited her. Maybe she wouldn't buy anything at all, but just going out and celebrating with herself would be enough, she told herself.
