Go left again

As you are deciding where to go this time, you can't help but think of the possibility that you've gone in an elaborate loop. You look behind you and ponder for another long moment about heading back. That is when it clicks for you - if it is a big loop that you have taken, you are just as likely to take the loop if you go the same way again, rather than turning around.

So you set your mind to taking the tunnel that branches out to your left. You take a deep breath, pondering how you should sneak around this weird magic circle. The first time you managed to get past it without dealing with whatever spell it holds, and you don't intend to find out this time either. You press your back against the left wall again, doing your best to shimmy your way around this obstacle like you did last time. Again, you cannot do anything about your toes touching the edge of the circle as you slip around the corner, but you try to pass it as quickly as possible. This time, though, you are in so much of a rush that you don't end up cleanly turning the corner. You lose your balance slightly and fall forward.

Luckily you are able to catch yourself before you fall on your face, but the circle flows ominously as both of your hands land squarely inside it, palms open and flat on the floor. Your eyes go wide and your veins are filled with a shot of adrenaline as you push off from the floor, throwing your body to the left to clear the circle. You don't take any time to rest, immediately scrambling back up to your feet and sprinting off down the next hallway.
