Go for the summoner

Remembering the demons advice you decide to make a move for the summoner.

Glancing slightly to the side you see the demon charging toward you, its speed deceptively faster than its large bulk should allow.

Focusing magic at the ground beneath you, you begin to compress air into a thin disk below your feet. You drop to a crouch, and wait for the demon to approach. Massive footsteps sound closer and closer to your body, the demons powerful sprint bringing it toward you.

You wait a couple of seconds more, the demons huge form coming into view in your peripheral vision, bringing its clawed arm back for a huge swipe. Leaning forward you release your hold on the compressed air, making it explode outward in a powerful shockwave, blasting you through the air towards the screaming blonde haired summoner.

You miss him by about a metre, and continue to fly through the air toward a nearby building. Once again you compress a disk of air beneath you, and let it explode out, firing you back toward the ground next to the summoner.

You flip your body to land feet first, and redirect the momentum of your flight into a spin. You bring your leg up and kick towards the guys head, putting all your body weight and momentum into it.

About an inch from the guys head you hit what feels like a block of wood, and your leg bounces away from the barrier. Glowing runes ripple away from the spot your leg impacted, before fading away into nothing again.

The summoner spins around and takes a long swipe at you, bellowing in anger. You duck the poor punch, and notice that the demon has turned and has approached nearly into range to attack you.

You throw your body away from the both of them, and with a blast of air, somersault to standing, the distance from the pair giving you a couple of seconds of thinking time.

The summoner seems to be protected by some form of protective barrier, and you know from experience that it cannot be broken with a kick. You are going to require something much more powerful.
