What should you do?
Go for some vampire hunting
"No. We can't hide forever." You stepped up with courage, "We need to strike first. Brandon, how do we kill vampires?"
"Decapitate them, stake their heart and burn them with sunlight. I think that basically sums up." Brandon replied and frowned, "Just how are you going to kill dozens of vampire?"
"It's still daytime now, right? At least we can take advantage of the sunlight." You looked at Melissa and saw the astonishment on her face. You nodded with a smile, "Sergeant, how many police officer can you gather to help us?"
"Jack would help. I'll try to persuade the others on duty today, gather as many man as possible." Melissa appreciated your stepping up to help and went to the door, "I'll go back to the station first, then I'll meet you at the bar."
"Be careful." You watched her leave before you turned to the priest, "Brandon, how many weapons do you have? Stakes, anything?"
"This is suicide." He shook his head, "You're not gonna make it."
"Brandon, this is our only chance to save the city, to save the ones we love." You approached Brandon and said in a soft tone, "You have been believing in a higher power and fighting those monsters in God's name. When you saved my life with the holy water which you had blessed, you believed it would work, because you believed that God was still watching you. And I believe you still do."
Brandon remained silent when he was listening. He kept staring at the floor, like he was avoiding you.
"I'm afraid that I'm not a believer. I'm not asking our lord to bless us or destroy the evil for us, and I'm not asking you to come with us. I'm just asking you to provide any help you can offer." You gently held his shoulder, "Not necessarily in God's name, but in yours. For a better chance for us to succeed."
The priest sighed.
At around 5 p.m. Melissa arrived at the Night Crawler's Bar with every police officer she could gather - Jack, and three more cops stupid enough to believe her story. Hugo was an energetic boy and he loved all sorts of supernatural stories; Peter was the one who always went by the book, but he could do good as a support role; Leona was the youngest girl with short red hair, but she had the determination to act quickly. They were all excellent officers, and Melissa hated to put them in such a dangerous situation. But she didn't have much choice.
The bar was as quiet as it was in the morning, but she knew what was lurking in there and she even quivered from the thoughts.
The winter sun would set in about half an hour, so they didn't have much time. Melissa waited anxiously and, when she was about to storm the bar with everything she got, you arrived, along with Brandon and a couple of teachers from the church's mission school.
"About time." Melissa smiled in relief when she saw Brandon holding up a heavy mace, "I thought you're not coming."
"God helps those who help themselves, Sergeant." Brandon returned a smile to her.
"Yeah. Here, take these stakes." You handed the wooden stakes to the cops, "Remember, bullets can't kill them. Use your gun to stagger them and stake their heart!"
"It's cool!" One of the cops, Hugo, was excited.
"Hey, uh..." You approached Jack, "Thank you for taking care of Fran. I owe you one."
"Nah. It's just my job." Jack humbly smiled and shook hands with you.
"Don't die on me, James." Melissa handed you a pistol. You guessed it might violate another protocol of the police department but she trusted you enough to do so.
"You too, Melissa." You accepted it with respect.
"I'll take the lead." Brandon stepped towards to front door and spoke calmly, "Last advice to you kids. Don't look into their eyes. Don't listen to their words. And stay alive."
"Once inside, shoot anyone that's not the seven of us here." Melissa gave her final order.
You broke the front door and signaled the ****. Most of the school teachers were too young and too weak to put up a fight against the vampires, so they were tasked with putting your strategy into effect. They broke every window on the front side, and used large mirrors they collected from the school to reflect sunlight into the bar.
Several vampires were sleeping on the first floor. They were immediately burnt by the reflected sunlight and started to scream. Brandon kissed the cross and smashed the first vampire's head with the mace. You stepped up to stake the wounded vampire, putting him out of his misery.
The police forces used the reflected sunlight to corner the monsters. Jack and the other three cops were frightened at first, but they still provided enough support for Melissa to do what was necessary.
Together you staked most of the vampires before the rest of them retreated to the second floor. The first stage of the mission was a success.
"Olivia was not among the ones we killed." You looked at the stair and held the stake in your hand tightly, "She must be hiding upstairs."
"My kids will try to break the windows on the second floor, but the reflection trick won't work there." Brandon took a deep breath and walked before you, "Mr. Wilson, you with me?"
"Of course." You smiled with confidence. You've come too far to back down here.
"I'll come with you, too!" Hugo volunteered.
"Alright. Jack, you and Leona go secure the back door. Make sure no one gets in or out. Peter, you come with me." Melissa assigned everyone's mission and proceeded to check the lounge.
She had a score to settle there.
She carefully opened the door to the lounge. Her father, Ian, was still lying on the floor, unaware of the fight outside. He was totally dormant. That's what most vampires were like during daytime. She felt her heart beating fast but she tried her best to calm herself down and stepped slowly towards him.
Melissa knelt down by her father and placed the stake on top of his chest. She held back the tears in her eyes and punched down. In **** pain Ian opened his eyes and looked at his daughter for one last time.
"Mel... I'm sorry... I shouldn't..." He turned into a pile of ash before he could finish.
"Goodbye, dad..." Melissa cried quietly.
"Do you miss me, Ma'am?" A familiar voice came from behind and she immediately turned around.
Peter's drained corpse was tossed on the floor and the vampire that got him was standing by the door. Melissa aimed her gun at him. But when she saw that vampire's face, she hesitated. It's Ernest.
And that one second of hesitation proved to be fatal. Ernest charged at Melissa before she fired and knocked the gun off her hand. Melissa tried to grab the stake, but she was immediately pinned down on the floor by a much stronger Ernest. The undead police officer didn't give a chance for her to fight back. He ripped apart her uniform's collar and struck on her neck.
"Ahhhhhh!" Melissa screamed painfully when his fangs pierced her flesh and stabbed in her vein. She felt her life flowing away from her, into the once fine man on top of her. But the pain quickly faded in a few seconds, and a flood of pleasure began to rush through her body, making her moan intensely. She struggled to break free, but with every second passed she lost more strength and will to do so.
"It's wonderful, isn't it? All these powers, all these sensibilities!" Ernest didn't take too much blood before he pulled out his fangs. He cut his own tongue with the fangs and smiled, "You can be a better police with this! I'll show it to you, Ma'am!"
Ernest **** a kiss on Melissa, making her drink his blood. She tried to resist but it was all in vain. The vampire blood flowed through her throat, along with a strange heat. Her eyes rolled back as she was at the brink of losing her consciousness.
It was at this moment that the other cop, Leona, went back to check the scream and staked Ernest from behind. The vampire screamed painfully and stood up to look for the attacker. The stake wasn't deep enough to kill him. When Leona noticed that it was Ernest, she was too shocked to move.
Ernest grabbed Leona's neck and was about to make her his next meal. But before he could taste her, Melissa collected all that's left of her strength and stood up. She punched the stake on Ernest's back and finished what Leona started, helping their friend to find peace.
"Sergeant... I'm..." Ernest turned around, puking blood, and tried to reach Melissa. He turned to ashes before he could make one step closer.
Melissa collapsed right afterward as the heat started to ravage her body.
You followed Brandon to the second floor and, with the help from Hugo, destroyed every sunlight-burnt vampire that ran from downstairs. The school teachers threw rocks and successfully broke a few windows on here. You could see things more clearly, but that's it. The sun was already setting.
You searched room by room and eliminated every sleeping vampire you found inside, but you still haven't seen Olivia. Where is she, you wondered anxiously. You busted the door of the last room and stormed inside, but it was empty.
"Wow! We've done it. We killed them all!" Hugo, standing by the door, joyfully sighed and lowered his guard.
"Be careful. I haven't seen-" Before you could finish your sentence you heard a snapping sound and turned around.
Hugo's neck was broken and his corpse was tossed aside by a vampire Victor, the bar's owner. You aimed at him the moment you noticed that Victor has taken Hugo's gun.
"James Wilson. We meet again." Victor smiled with bloodstains around his mouth and pointed the gun at you, "What a pity that you took Fran away before mistress arrived. It would be so much more fun."
"Victor." You gasped briefly and tried to stay calm, "Please, you must resist it. You can do better!"
"Resist it, you say? You don't know how good it feels! I've never had such delicious drinks, never had such wonderful sexes! It's a gift my mistress granted me. And you abandoned her gift!" Victor yelled angrily and jealously, "Why is mistress so interested in you? She was growling your name even when she was fucking me and the others!"
"What!?" You frowned with mixed feelings.
"Don't listen to his words, Mr. Wilson!" Brandon said and quickly made a move towards the vampire.
Victor immediately switched his target and fired at Brandon in fury. The priest got shot and fell down. But that was exactly his plan, and you grasped it. You didn't think twice before you took several shots and hit Victor chest. You seized the chance, ran up to him and tried to stake him, but Victor quickly recovered from the stagger.
It was when you feared that you're not gonna make it that Victor got another shot on his head from Leona who just arrived on the second floor. It gave you enough time to bump into him and drive the stake through his heart. Both of you fell on the floor.
"James..." Victor grabbed your hand with his last strength when he was vomiting blood, "Take care of Fran..."
"I will..." You answered. You're a good man after all, you said to yourself when Victor turned to ashes.
You went back in the room and checked on Brandon. The bullet merely scratched his shoulder. He should be fine, you sighed in relief.
"I've been worse." Brandon smiled and got up.
"Priest Brandon! Please, we need your help!" Leona came up to you anxiously, "Sergeant Ashton was... she was fed with some of their blood!"
You were gripped in fear. Your mind was blank when you rushed downstairs. Melissa was sitting by the counter, panting. Her wounds on the neck have been treated, but they weren't the real problem. She was suffering from the growing heat that was consuming her body. Brandon came to her and checked her pulse with a worried expression.
"Please, you have to save her." You almost begged the priest.
"There might still be time. I'll perform the ritual here and bless the water." Brandon sighed, "We've killed every vampire in this place. We should be fine, as long as that master vampire doesn't come back."
"Yeah..." You felt frustrated. You haven't found Olivia in the bar. You couldn't imagine the serious consequence of her escaping and making another massacre like this.
Melissa opened her eyes and looked at you. When she noticed that only you and Brandon came back, she sadly bit her lips as she knew the fate of Hugo. "Where... Where is Jack..." She turned to Leona and asked.
"I... I don't know! He told me to come back and help you when we heard you scream." Leona shook her head and shivered in panic, "I just checked the back door and he's not there!"
"Oh god..." Melissa spoke feebly.
What should I do... What should I do... You kept thinking harder and harder, until you realized that there was a way to find out where Olivia went.
The one and only.
Do what you must...
