You flash on her profile, tall and noble, her long hair swept back, looking out the window at the clouds.

And here you are. You straighten your shoulders, tug at your gleaming new Prefect's pin, and go off to look for Golondrina. Perhaps she'll let you pounce on her if she's in the mood.

"Morgannnn," Golondrina says, fending you off with raised palms, "I'm busyyyy."

"Please, Golondrina," you say. With no one about, you repeat, "Please, Lolo."

Golondrina snorts. Her hands are firm against the front of your robe, holding you at a distance. "This prefect thing has gone to your head," she says.

"It's not that," you say. "It's...it's you. I mean, the only reason I'm a prefect, the only reason I'm in Leontes, that Fay's in Leontes, is you.

Her expression softens. "My Conjurations practice isn't going to do itself," she says. "And my partner will squeal to the teacher if I'm late again. They could pull your Prefect's pin if they find out you made me late."

You sigh. "All right," you say. "But promise."

"Promise?" Golondrina says.

"Just say it," you say. "I promise."

Golondrina's half-smile broadens into a silly grin. "All RIGHT, Morgan," she says. "I promise."

"That's all I wanted," you say. "Later."
