The minimarket

The cold air inside the market gives you refreshing chills, and the plush welcome mat is indeed welcome under your feet. The store is mostly empty, just Susie on the register and someone else unstacking some boxes outback. The aisles have food, cleaning utensils, and assorted groceries. Sadly, no clothes of any kind.

Well, you´ve been here long enough, and the temperature is getting downright chilly. Goosebumps appear all over your arms. You kind of suspect that Susie turned the AC up to make you leave faster. {if Ropa < 4}As enticing as it would be to hide there all day, it´s time to move on.{elseif Ropa > 4} It´s best to move on.{endif}

Passing by the cashier, you notice a variety of items on display. A slingshot, superglue, and some sort of slime ball experiment for kids? “Just add a drop of water to turn the Gooball™ into a bucket of slime!” Huh. Maybe some of these things might come in handy, but you can´t exactly afford any of them.

“H-hi again.” You prop yourself up on the counter. “What´s the store policy on customer credit?”

“For you? There is none. Pay upfront or leave.”

“And, ehm, do you know where a gal like me can get some cash quickly?”

Susie lets out a deep sigh. Whatever rude thing she wanted to suggest, she held her tongue. “I heard the coffee shop is hiring. If you are not going to buy, go bother someone else.”

“I HEARD THAT. SUSIE, WHAT´S THE PROPER WAY TO SAY GOODBYE TO A CUSTOMER?”

Susie twists her lips into an unnatural V shape, but her eyes don´t hide her anger. It´s unnerving, she is the spitting image of a serial killer. “I´m sorry dear customer, can I help you with anything else or will that be all?”

“GOOD GIRL.”

“Every goshdarn time…” Susie starts muttering to herself under her breath.

Without money, there isn´t much you can do here. Maybe it´s best to leave and come back later. …But you really want that item! Maybe you can acquire them through ...less than legal means? Would Susie notice?

Maybe …maybe it would be better to get the cashier out of the picture before trying to steal anything. Distract her or something. She doesn´t seem to be on the best of terms with her boss. What if you get her in trouble? But how?

You notice that Susie is stealthily scratching her neck. Her uniform consists of an apparently itchy green sweater, black pants, and an apron. You spot a sign in the corner of her workstation that reads: “All employees must take perfect care of their uniform and wear it at all times while in the store.”

A loose thread is hanging from the bottom of the sweater, and you can see a tear beginning to form on the back of her pants. Huh, maybe getting her in trouble will be easier than you expected.
