Go back to the Convent
Upon reaching the gates to the convent, I realized that this was the first time in a long time I had left it, years even. I had forgotten how the green the grass could be, the little rainbows reflected in the morning dew on the flowers, even the melodramatic songbirds announcing their virility! The outside world called to me like a ball of yarn calls to a little kitty but, nevertheless, something deep within me told me that my place was here, guiding the novitiate.
As soon as I entered, all my sisters greeted me with joy unlike any I had ever seen except during the holidays. They wanted to know why I hadn't accompanied them during breakfast, to which I answered that I had to bring bread to the hungry folks in the town. They all congratulated my piety and praised my example. They crowded around me, caressing my face, my back, and chastely kissing my lips and cheeks. I have to say it was rewarding to be welcomed in this way.
