Give Chloe a chance

A thought occurred to you.

It was not a thought you were proud of. But you realized something in an instant. Maybe the problem was that Kim was just too comfortable with how everything had gotten. You made a decent amount of money and she was able to do her art and, really, whatever else she wanted, without really anything to challenge the status quo. You needed something to really stir the pot, to either get Kim to fight for you, or to push her to leave--really you just wanted her to make a decision.

What you hoped, though, is that up against a woman threatening to take your affection--as well as your cash flow--away from her, Kim would then make some effort to meet you halfway to fix things. It was likely a bad idea. You've read enough online relationship advice stories gone wrong where the guy does something stupid, and this might go on the list.

But in this case, if Kim does leave... you've got a plan B. And that plan was staring right at you, shivering and shaking herself out of a cohesive shape.

"Hey now, hey..." You said, stepping closer to Chloe, putting your hands on her slimy shoulders, although it was hard to hold her in place when her consistency was considerably goopier than she had been moments prior. "You know what, you're right. You're right! Kim and I are dating, but we're not doing great. We're on a break, to explore new options. And the more I think about it, the more I think you're maybe the perfect person to get to know better, to see if there's a better path for me to walk."

Chloe paused, her shivering slowing, as she started to look a little more solid. "You're... you're sure? You'd really want to try a date?"

You nodded, with a smile, and Chloe suddenly smiled back, wrapping her slimy arms around you. Still not back to her original consistency, moving so quickly was accompanied by a lot of slurping, squishing sounds from Chloe's body. "Uh, sorry about that. I'm... I was just worried that I messed up."

You shook your head, patting Chloe a little. "Don't worry about it. It's this whole complex thing with Kim, I don't really know what to make of it really. But, then there's this girl right in front of me, unlike anyone I'd ever met... and let me guess. You can do things humans can't?"

Chloe nodded vigorously, almost back to her well-defined shape. "I can do so much! It's gonna sound weird, but I can take over bodies, I can do all sorts of things to heal humans, I can make them better and stronger and look different... the list goes on. Usually I'm doing all that through my assistant Amanda, that's the woman you knew me as." Chloe was so excited, she talked faster than normal, shifting her green translucent body around as she hugged deep onto you.

"So, you've got superpowers, or you can give others superpowers from the sounds of it. That's amazing," you said with a grin.

This gave you so many options to work with! The key was finding the right one... you could do a whole litany of things all at once, from having fun with Chloe's slime body, going on an actual date for once, using her abilities for yourself... and then all you had to do was make Kim feel like she had to respond to stay with you.

You felt a little bad that this happy little slimegirl holding onto you was more a means to an end, but if you played your cards right, Kim and Chloe were the ones who would duke it out, and you'd make out clean with a girlfriend who cared about you either way.

"Great, so, what's first?" You asked Chloe.
