Give Chase!

You stride to the Dalton twins’ yard and hop the fence, narrowly avoiding another water balloon. The twins are wearing matching black bathing suits and are already a little wet – they must have been playing in their pool before deciding on more exciting entertainment. They look from you to each other and they exchange grins before running off giggling, heaving a final water balloon in your general direction.

You give chase but they run like gazelles, making it across the yard and scampering up their treehouse, the rope just grazing your fingers as they pull it out of reach. There’s a pause as you glare at the entrance, then two mops of blonde curls appear, followed by two sets of pale blue eyes and four dimples as the twins grin down at you.
