Chapter 299 by airwreck airwreck

What do they talk about while they wait for their meal?

Girl talk.

The waitress went around the table to take our orders, including two bottles of Pinot Noir to go with our pasta. Sofia smiled as she took our menus and left us to talk.

I sat back and sipped my rum and Coke while listening to the girls chat with each other — it would be their last dinner together as a group and I wanted them to enjoy chitchatting about what women usually talk about with their close friends: work, fashion, food, sex, relationships, music, and movies.

"Don't you agree, honey?" Elizabeth asked with a smile, touching my arm.

I wasn't really paying attention to what the girls were talking about -- I just nodded.

"Really?" Amy gasped.

"Um... maybe, I guess?" I babbled, wondering what I had just agreed to.

"You like it in the butt?" Talia giggled.

"Wait, what? I... I mean no..." I spluttered.

Talia and the girls laughed at the joke I was unaware of. "I was joking!"

"Honey, we were talking about baby names and Amy suggested Steve would be a good name if we have a boy," Elizabeth explained.

"I was hoping for Ian Jr.," I smirked.

"We'll see about that," my wife disagreed.

"Well, if I have a boy I can name him Ian," Talia suggested.

"Two sons named Ian?" I chuckled. "That's going to be very confusing at Thanksgiving dinners!"

Elizabeth punched me in the shoulder. "And what if it's a girl?"

"Whatever name you want, honey," I replied, jokingly rubbing my shoulder.

"Good answer!" she smiled.

I kept my mouth shut and let the girls continue to talk about babies until Sofia returned with our food.

How's dinner?
