What did they get?
Gifts for Ian.
"A gift for Uncle Ian," Elizabeth replied with a smile.
"Awww!" Adam frowned as he turned on his heels and walked away disappointed.
"Can I see it?" I asked curiously.
"Nope, not right now," Talia replied with a knowing smirk.
"Awww!" I pouted, mimicking Adam's frown and went back to the breakfast nook to finish my sandwich.
The girls though revealed what they got to Amy, who squealed in delight — that was probably the first time I had heard her do that!
"So when will I find out?" I asked.
"Later," my wife answered as she led the girls upstairs.
"Fine, us boys will have fun by ourselves!" I snorted. "Right, Adam?"
"Yes, Uncle Ian," the boy replied without lifting his eyes off the tablet.
"Hey, you want to go to backyard and practice before your soccer game?" I asked.
"Sure!" Adam answered.
"Okay, let me change!" I smiled and got up. "Be right back!"
"Okay!"
I went upstairs and found the girls in the master bedroom. "Keep your clothes on, girls, I'm just going to change to play soccer with Adam," I announced, shielding my eyes as I headed towards my dresser.
The girls threw throw pillows at me.
"So can you show me what you bought?" I asked.
"I guess there's no point delaying the inevitable," Elizabeth said and the other two girls nodded as she reached into the shopping bag.
