Getting up early

The moment you feel Blue getting up from bed, you're instantly wide awake. When you jump out of bed, the first thing you notice is how dark it is outside. The sun hasn't yet even begun to peek over the horizon but early morning traffic shows the first signs of the city rumbling to life. You probably got less sleep than you needed, but the excitement of taking on your first gym leader gives you an immense adrenaline rush.

The two of you shield your eyes as Blue flips the lights on, bumbling around searching for Blue's backpack to get ready for the day. When he finds it he pulls two granola bars out of it and tosses you one.

"Hurry up," Blue barks at you. He tears open the wrapper to his granola bar and takes a huge bite. You rush to do the same, hopping out of bed as you unwrap your provided breakfast. You rush into the bathroom, brushing your hair to make it presentable for challenging your first gym leader. Even if Blue is going to make you wear some ridiculous outfit, you can at least make sure you look presentable.

Oh right, the outfit. Last night you promised Blue that he could pick what you wear today. You feel a twinge of regret at that decision, knowing that there's a possibility that your match may be televised across all of Kanto. But it's too late now, and besides, nobody's gonna care how ridiculous you look as long as you win, right?

You step back out of the bathroom to find Blue already fully dressed and sitting on the edge of the bed with that damn smug grin on his face. Beside him is your outfit, freshly taken from the closet, waiting for you to put on.
